Apparently this is the spot where Deli Unique used to be - I grew up in the WB area and I vaguely remember going there. I had never tried Pickles and Rye Deli before and another friend always talks it up, so when a different friend wanted to meet here for lunch today I was excited to try it.They start you off with a pickle plate, which was awesome, and some crunchy rye bread. The pickle plate included some new dill pickles and some old dill, my preference is new deal and so is my friend's so we asked for more of those. I am not a big deli sandwich fan but it looks like they have breakfast all day, and I ended up getting a cup of the kreplach soup and two potato latkes. The latkes are small-ish but make up for it in volume - unfortunately I did not take a photo but they came with applesauce and sour cream and they were very good. On the menu, it says $6 per potato pancake and $15 for a plate; a plate is 6 potato pancakes, but you can get 2 latkes for $6, so I'm not sure why it says $6 for one.My friend got the chicken Caesar salad, but with their garlic sauce instead of Caesar. I think she liked it a lot but she said their croutons have changed since the last time she got it. I also got a deli sandwich to go for my husband, so we'll see what his opinion is of it. There are a lot of delis in this area, most deli sandwiches now range about $15 which I feel like is expensive, but this deli was on par with those prices. My friend also got a slice of the strawberry cheesecake to-go for her husband and it looked really good. Overall I would come back here just for the soup, pickle plate, and potato latkes, but I'd like to try more of the menu as well.

Excellent deli.Service was terrific. The portions were ample and food was well prepared and quite tasty!Pastrami was lean and flavorful. Sweep potato waffle fries were excellent as were the fried pickles.I'll be back!

We were on this sound of town at lunch time and I always love a good Jewish deli, so we stopped by for a meal. The place was much bigger than we thought it would be!Our server, Cathy, was very friendly and attentive. I stuck with a classic - I got the "My Deli Addiction" - corned beef, cole slaw, Swiss and Russian dressing on rye. It was huge and messy...but it was delicious! My wife had the open face turkey sandwich and liked it.I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu!

Haven't been to Pickles & Rye for years. Val's Deli our usual deli and sometimes get dragged to the overpriced and undersized sandwiches and salads at Stage. Dinner this evening exceeded what I remembered. My corned beef sandwich had literally twice the beef compared to Stage and was very good. Also had mushroom barley soup which was not as thick as Stage, Val's or other delis but still good. My wife had a Cobb salad which was very large and also very good. A table next to us I saw a deli salad delivered which literally had 3x more corned beef and Turkey as a Stage salad for less money. Val's and Pickles and Rye are both good options if you are looking for a good/legit deli sandwich or salad .

We ordered takeout from this deli and it was just ok. The salad I ordered was really boring with just lots of iceberg and boring dressing. My family's sandwiches were ok, but on the small side, and underwhelming in terms of meat quality, amount and spices. Locals might know which foods are better there, but for travelers passing through, their sandwiches and salads were average.

I visited Pickles and Rye this week and I am so happy I did! The sandwiches were amazing! Totally tender, flavorful and each bite was great! The sides didn't want to take a back seat to the sandwiches! I couldn't get enough of those crunchy and delicious onion rings! The seasoned fries and the cheddar tots were also really good! We ordered the Sid and Seymour along with the scrumptious deli dip and those pickles.. it was such a pleasant meal! I also appreciate the owner who is very customer friendly and puts his all into making this a go-to establishment for so many!

Wandered in at about 11:30am on a whim. My stomach and I were happily pleased. There's an area to place your oder and a sitting area for something more formal. I'm not sure how you go about getting seated, but I just placed my to go order at the counter and came back after doing an errand. Having never been there before, the woman behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. It was a good vibe for sure.Everything was well-wrapped, and I made it back to the office without any trouble from my sandwich. I ordered the "My Deli Addiction" since that feels like the most classic deli sandwich, and it was delicious. It didn't feel too too heavy or greasy. Just a pleasant sandwich that I happened to inhale. No sides required, that was plenty of meal for me.If I'm in the mood for some deli sandwiches, I would consider this a top contender. Not the best deli sandwich I've ever had, but an absolutely solid score.

Pickle and Rye Deli is a bustling haven for aficionados of traditional Jewish cuisine. The absence of lavish decor is inconsequential, as customers flock here for one reason: the authentic, soul-warming dishes that evoke nostalgia and satisfy cravings. From matzo ball soup to succulent pastrami sandwiches, each dish is a culinary journey through tradition, prepared with care and served with a side of affordability. While the ambiance may not be the draw, the genuine flavors and welcoming atmosphere ensure Pickle and Rye Deli remains a cherished destination for those seeking a taste of tradition.

This is a great place to go for a big deli sandwich in the West Bloomfield area. I really enjoyed my corned beef and swiss sandwich! The salads are also great sizes and come with a lot of deli meat. The atmosphere is pretty laid back with not too much happening. The service is always great and I always love coming here with my family.
