There were definitely customers earlier and I didn't want to take a photo. It was now way past the lunch hour.
This is a dining area I was able to see from where I was sitting.
Oopa or oops?
Upon entering and moving toward the dining rooms, there is a bar.

This is the open kitchen. I can see some pastitsio and moussaka. I'll take pastitsio. I don't do eggplant.

My husband often works over in the Detroit area so we are always on the lookout for a great spot to have dinner. We aren't from the area so we often rely on recommendations. We were recently recommended Pegasus and decided to give it a try! WOW!Prior to this visit I had little exposure to greek food but this experience most definitely left me hungry for more!! We had the best waiter!! I wish I could remember his name! He was absolutely perfect for us, as rookies in greek food - he gave really great recommendations and explanations and helped us choose some really amazing dishes to try! And because it was our first time in, he gave us a piece of the most delicious baklava for dessert, on the house!! Such a great experience!! We started our meal with the Saganaki - flaming cheese! What fun and very tasty!! They also serve a delicious bread basket for the table!! After very high recommendations from our server my husband ordered the Platos Platter which was a great bit of assortment but also included lamb chops which he was really wanting to try! It came with the choice of a soup or salad to start and he chose the greek salad - wow! One of the best salads that we have ever tasted! Everything on his dinner plate was absolutely amazing!! He even loved the veggies they served which included peas and he never likes peas!!! :) The dolmathes also deserve special mention - I'm not usually a fan of grape leaves but I loved these!! As the less adventurous one, I chose the Greek Trio. It came with spanakoteropeta, moussaka, and pastitsio, Each one of these items were new to me and each one was so delicious!! I think my very favorite was the moussaka which is thinly sliced and layered eggplant, ground meat seasoned with special spices, topped with béchamel sauce. I didn't even think I liked eggplant, but dish was beyond tasty!! The atmosphere here was so pleasant! They have greenery/vines hung from the ceiling giving the cutest authentic vibes! We truly loved our time at Pegasus in Greektown and can't wait to get back that way to give it another try!! :)

Years since we've been here. A Greektown classic accessible from the casino (first floor) or street. We visited on a very busy evening (Lions playoff night). We were seated within minutes and service was very good. The place looks good. They are great at handling the crowds. Very efficient. Everything we ordered was great and we had no complaints. Nice portions too.If you're in the area it's worth a visit.

Final stop before we head back home. Love Greektown in Detroit. Pegasus is the spot! We enjoyed a great meal with saganaki to start, some lamb chops and a gyro meal. Everything came out hot and delicious! Bruna was an awesome waiter and her and the team provided great service!! Great feel with a true mediterranean vibe!

When we're in Michigan we make time to visit Pegasus cause the food is spectacular, we love the atmosphere, and it's just a great restaurant. The food was amazing as usual however I definitely would NOT recommend the spaghetti with meat sauce. It was basically plain pasta with barely anything on it for $16! Which is crazy! The chicken gyro was huge and delicious. The chicken lemonato was super tender and flavorful and I love the lemon chicken soup!

If you're in Greek town Pegasus Taverna is a solid choice if you would like to try some Greek food.I highly recommend the combination plate as it comes with a little bit of everything. I got the lamb and it didn't taste gamey at all. It was super tender and there were a lot of flavors going on in this dish.If you order this there is no need to get any appetizer because the portion is huge. You could probably get away with sharing a combo plate as we couldn't finish it.I don't like peas but they seasoned the peas so well I actually was able to enjoy it.On top of that, the service was excellent. Our server, Andy, gave us plenty of recommendations and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The ambience of this place was also great. We came on a Friday night and there was no wait at all.

It's all about the food and Golden Fleece edged out Pegasus. The Tzatziki at the Golden Fleece is popping and flavorful, at Pegasus it's muted and dull. The gyro mystery meat at Golden Fleece is all lamb and tastes like it should, Pegasus is the same quality as a food truck. Golden Fleece served fries with the gyro, Pegasus potato chips. The saganaki or flaming cheese at both locations were about the same. Pegasus is certainly a larger venue. The service at both was excellent.

Well my food was a bit cold. Which definitely is why it came out so fast. Flavours were pretty good, but I think it's safe to say that flavors are more apparent to the mouth when properly warned. Which is hard when you order a more costly item. I'd be tempted to give them another try, but my waiter didn't seem to care about the restaurant anymore based on few things were said. It probably will take someone else's desire to get me to return and gamble for warm food.

As a lover of Greek cuisine, I was thrilled to discover Pegasus Taverna in the heart of Detroit's Greektown. The Greek Trio: I ordered the Greek Trio, which included spanakopita and patsitsio Let me tell you, it was a symphony of flavors! The spanakopita was flaky and filled with savory spinach and feta, while the potato dish was perfectly seasoned and comforting. Cozy and Family-Friendly: Pegasus Taverna exudes warmth and hospitality. The locals frequent this gem, creating an inviting atmosphere. Whether you're dining with family or friends, you'll feel right at home. Flaming Cheese: Don't miss the flaming cheese - a delightful spectacle that's as tasty as it is impressive. Verdict: Pegasus Taverna is a culinary oasis where tradition meets modern flair. If you're craving authentic Greek food, look no further. Opa!

I've been going to Pegasus in Greetown since I was a little girl. It was always a special day when my mom would take me to Trappers Alley where we would shop then go have saganaki "flaming cheese" at Pegasus. Sadly the stores at Trappers Alley* has been replaced by Hollywood Casino but the same Pegasus is still there. Same dark wood and dark interior and same delicious Greek food. This recent trip proved that despite all the changes some things remained unchanged. The saganaki was just as I remembered it. That delicious kasseri cheese lit on fire with the crispy edges. They served it with a crusty white bread but I would have preferred the traditional pita bread. Also tried the warm grape leaves. You can either have it topped with a lemon or tomato sauce on top. I opted to try both with the sauces on the side. I can't decide which one I liked better but liked the option of dipping the grape leaves in the sauce instead of it being smothered on top. Our bartender/server made a great cosmopolitan. Filled right to the top not halfway like some places. It's nice to see Pegasus has not changed much over the years and look forward to going back on my next trip to Detroit. Opa!*I added a picture of Trappers Alley from the 80s.
