Patisserie Parmentier

I've only enjoyed their baked goods purchased from Plum Market (they're carried by all of the locations in Metro-Detroit, I believe) but they always deliver a tasty product. From cookies to tarts, to cupcakes and cookies, their goods never disappoint. Most recently I purchased a one of their cream fruit cakes for my mom's birthday and I loved it. Light vanilla sponge filled with a vanilla custard type filling and more on top adorned with a variety of fruit. A lovely summer treat that didn't leave us overly full or buzzy with too much sugar. The cakes come in two sizes and I purchased the smaller of the two (it was 8 inch, I think? Maybe 6) which admittedly was still pretty pricey so I'd probably only reach for a full cake for special occasions but if you're in the mood for a lil' treat while you're grocery shopping grab yourself a cupcake or cookie from the bakery section.

Lisa is so Rude. Made the wrong order for us, then blamed us for her printer not printing good quality. The way she speaks to customers is so wrong. Lisa apparently has a bad reputation for treating customers like Dirt judging from reviews on google that I have read.It's not our fault you didn't replicate our wedding cake properly and it is also not our fault that you are such an angry person. They even refused to add chocolate chips to our cake because it would "taste bad" they said.. Red Velvet is 87% chocolate, so how are chocolate chips going to taste bad again? Keep up the poor treatment of customers and see how far that gets you. I remember 4 1/2 years ago when I met Lisa, I thought she was so rude, but they already had our deposit for our wedding cake at that time.. My wife made the mistake of going back to them to make a miniature replica of our wedding cake for my birthday. Then to insult my wife and me on my birthday. Nice work guys. You can definitely count on them to spoil any special occasion you may have...

The best cake maker ever. The best cakes, the best cookies, the best designs, the best taste, the best price. Hands down. I've been ordering from John and Lisa for like 15 years now, and I've also tried sooooo many local cake places- hands down, they are the best. plum market now carries their goods if you want a preview!! It's not on the menu, but ask for Funfetti flavor for the cake!!

Been here three times. This was the last. I was told that I could not have a birthday cake once. Second time they hassled me (Lisa) and got all grouchy with my request. Third time, which will be my last. Lisa again told me no cake because her husband was out of town. This was 4 weeks in advance. Did not offer to work with me or anything. Just said, I can't do, sorry! Well Lisa you are a grouch. Her husband is awesome though and did a great job with the one cake we were granted with. Too bad.

This is the second major event that I have used Jon for. I tried sooo many cakes around town and his are just the most delicious and creative. On the inside - first he created my son's wedding and each tier had a layer of brownie, chocolate mouse, chocolate cake, white mouse and white cake. It was so good, chocolaty and moist! The second cake was just last week for my daughter's bridal shower and each tier was different but my favorite was the vanilla cake with lemon and raspberry cream fillings. Amazing! As to the outside well Jon is simply a master artist and I am sharing his gorgeous details in the attached pics. Thank you so much for your fabulous work John!!!

I purchased some of their cupcakes (choc/vanilla) and a lemon petite four from Plum Market for a co-worker's bday. All were very pretty, but unfortunately everyone said the cake in each was dry. The lemon filling in the petite as well as the icing on the cupcakes was very tasty, but the dryness really took away from the overall taste. I really wanted to like it...

Our wedding cake and my bridal shower cake both came from here and they were both beautiful and absolutely delicious! We received so many compliments! We will definitely go back for all of our events!

Where do I begin? We have been using John for years so it was no surprise when he gave us our dream wedding cake. John and Lisa exceed our expectations X's 100! Our cake was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen, it was exactly what we asked for. The cake not only looked fabulous but it tasted amazing. Delicious cakes, bar none. Negative comments about Lisa are perplexing. Could customer be confounding honesty with rudeness? Besides providing fabulous tasting cakes, both Lisa and John went out of their way to be of service during one of their busiest times. Their business reflects integrity. How else has it lasted so long? Hope this place is around many more years!

I have been ordering cakes from Patisserie Parmentier ever since my very first time of trying it out. Whether it was for a birthday, anniversary, or just a simple gathering, I was never given something to have an issue with. I'm always given a much more beautiful cake than expected and it's always so delicious too. I highly recommend ordering from here for your next occasion. You won't regret it!
