Was in area- it was Friday- stopped in for a margarita, that turned into 2 ! Also took home some lobster bisque soup. A fun, friendly neighborhood atmosphere. A bit overpriced, but still good .

I've grown fond of the parrot cove, one of the best of Margaritaville spots right in Troy. Not a whole lot's changed through the years and that's a good thing, pretty sure it's still the same owners, Bill in the back and Maria out front and she's the best, welcoming, friendly and she does a great job. We stopped in on a Saturday night and the place was humming but they kept it moving the food came out fast drinks were on time they were cleaning the tables, people were are at the bar, all in all it was a nice Saturday stop and not too expensive. I got the prime rib sandwich and it was stacked with thin sliced prime rib, l added the mushrooms, it was on a nice fat fresh bun, and it came with a big cup of au jus and serve with french fries $16 (recommended)And Parrot cove has got it down with those margaritas, pretty sure they're 11 bucks but well worth it, if like good rocks margarita you found one of the best don't miss it. Bumping it up to four stars it's not quite five stars there's really no veggie choice and place needs a little work inside and the parking lots a wreck, but today my experience felt like five stars. Parrot cove filled my Margaritaville itch.

It's been a minute since I've sang the praises of my most favorite-est restaurant. In this economy, certain restaurants are out for me. No more $15 breakfasts - gone are the days of grabbing a quick lunch at a local diner or coney island for under $20 - BUT.. The Cove is where I'm angled to spend my hard earned dollars. Consistently great food, nice relaxing atmosphere...I don't need to go on and on.. you know how I feel about the Cove! It's STILL tops in my book. Tonight, I was craving a burger - damn glad I got one!! SO DAMN DELICIOUS!! Portion sizes are great - I have plenty of leftovers for a late night snack! STOP IN!! Owners Bill and Maria are a treasue - LOVE YOU PARROT COVE!

I think this place used to be the spot. Now dated and reminiscent of a poorly done Margaritaville. I can say that the burger was quality however, way undercooked.( And I like medium cooked burger). There happened to be a very loud table, that obviously were regulars, that added to the atmosphere. Again, not the best.

I like Parrot Cove Yacht Club, and I like it a lot. I have very good reasons for this, but the first, primary, and most significant reason is that I think that their food game is excellent, and belies the setting, quite frankly.Make no mistake: PCYC is, first and foremost, a bar. A *bar*, bar. Not a tasting room, not a microbrewery, not a fancy-pants *ANYTHING*. It. Is. A. Bar. And if you like margaritas, those are clearly what they're known for. If you want a potent potable, well, don't you worry, darlin': that is what they serve up here, in spades. These are *not* watered-down beverages, and I can tell you that from personal experience. I'm not joking around when I refer to them as "potent"...because that, they are. Just one of these had me feeling it in spades, after a full meal, and I'm not a tiny person by any stretch of the imagination. But back to that whole "It's a bar!" thing. This is a no-frills, neighborhood-friendly, attitude-laden bar, and they make no apologies for it. It's small, and the tables and chairs are closely spaced together, and when it gets busy, real estate inside is quite hard to procure. I'm usually solo, so that doesn't affect me all that much, because I don't mind grabbing a seat at the bar, where Marie resides as the queen of the bar and front of the house. Marie is a bit of a spitfire, and she'll be happy to help you, when she can. She's pretty busy, and yes: sometimes service can be a bit slow as a result. Again: if you're looking for magnanimous, eager-to-please service, this may not be the place for you. IT'S A BAR!!!!!However, with that in mind, we come to the biggest reason that I like PCYC a great deal: it's a bar with some *really* great food coming out of a really good kitchen. Really. And perhaps not everything is absolutely great, but many things are: the ribs, the shrimp, the soups...I can personally vouch for all of those things. The ribs are the original Oxford Inn ribs of Royal Oak fame, and while the sauce is a bit different, the ribs are still very good. I still prefer the old sauce (which is available up in New Baltimore at Fin's Eatery and Spirits), but these ribs are still excellent. It's more than that, though: along with those ribs, you get a soup starter, and their French Onion soup is wonderful, every day of the week. *However*, if you go on a Friday or Saturday, their Lobster Bisque is fantastic, and worth seeking out, and definitely worth upgrading to a bowl from the included cup. This stuff is magic. With both of those soups, though, you can't go wrong. It's just that they offer more/different things on Fridays and Saturdays (including Prime Rib, which I haven't tried yet).Don't want ribs? Don't worry about it! They have multiple different preparations of shrimp that will come out of the kitchen and make you *happy*, and yes: you'll still get soup with that entree order. Really: the kitchen knows what they're doing. Ribs? Yes. Shrimp? Yes. Steak bites? Yes. Soup? Yes. I've yet to have anything *bad* here, at all. My French Dip the last time I went wasn't overly impressive, but that was me stretching myself a bit...I'm not a huge French Dip guy, but I did finish the entire thing. I wouldn't get it again, but that's completely subjective on my part. It was well made, and well put-together.I guess it's more about your expectations than anything else. Me? I'm all about the food, first. If the food is good, lots of other, smaller "sins" will usually bounce off of me like water off a duck's back. It's a small, loud room? Yeah, but that soup. They only take cash or Venmo? Yeah, but that *shrimp*. The service can be spotty? Yeah, but those *ribs*. You get the idea.It ain't a place gearing itself for the hipsterrific crowd, folks.IT'S!A!BAR!But if a friendly, neighborhood bar with great food is what you want, well...grab yourself a margarita, sit down, and make some new friends. Trust me: with *these* margaritas? You will *need* to be sitting down. Take a load off, have a bite, and...relax.Because, you know...you're in a bar. ;)

I came to Parrot Cove for the first time to meet up with a buddy of mine. We saddle up to the bar. My first impression is the service is not that great. I am not sure if the bartender, maybe Maria, was having a bad day, but we had to flag her down for everything. Can I get a drink? Can I get a menu, can I place an order, etc., etc. they were not busy, only a few people.I ordered up the half slab of sweet potato French fries with a French onion soup.I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The ribs meat falls off the bone nice flavor to them. The french onion soup was fantastic As well as the sweet potato french fries. I will definitely come back and give it another shot because the food was delicious. May service will be better next time.

What a fun place to visit. I have wanted to stop by for years and finally made it. Though I heard they were out of several items (soups and dressing) I figured once the Covid scare is lowered and reliable employees are hired in (unemployment pays more till businesses improve UGH) they will be back on top. I went to try the margaritas and I wasn't disappointed at all. I'd like to try the prime rib for sure as I seen it delivered nearby. Yummy. I'll be back for sure.

This place was a hot mess the Friday night I went there with 3 friends. I didn't realize how small it is inside - all the tables were full and people were waiting to be seated. I asked a waitress - when I could grab 1 of the 2 for a quick second, do we put a name in? She said - first come, first served. So basically the honor system with all these people standing around. We waited at the bar and tried to get drinks with the one crabby bartender serving everybody.A table opened up and the next group grabbed it, then we waited anxiously to see if we would get lucky - eventually some people left and we hot footed it over there and sat down. Apparently that's a no no though, we got yelled at by the waitress for not letting her clean it first - but hey, we didn't want to lose our chance. Anyways - she cleans up our table, we order drinks, look at the menu on the ipad and when she comes back with our drinks after a good bit we order 2 slabs of ribs. She warned us it was going to be a wait and she was right. We just tried to relax and chat and get another drink. Our waitress didn't get back to us for a while though so I finally went back to the bar and asked for a beer and to please put it on our tab. She gave me a bit of grief but I pushed back and said I've been waiting patiently and she's not coming by. So she poured me a beer and I took it back to my table. When the ribs came they were fall off the bone delicious. Didn't even need to pick them up. The flavor was incredible. They're not cheap - $36 for a full slab with 2 sides, but enough to share between 2 people. They also only take CASH or VENMO - so be prepared. Another weird quirk.I'd go back again - maybe just not on a Friday or Saturday - the food was delicious but the service and crowding and wait I didn't enjoy.

Visited for lunch. I ordered a classic cheeseburger, prepared medium. It was prepared medium and served hot. Thank you very much. The lettuce and tomato were cool. The cheese was melted. I don't recall if the bun was toasted - I think not. The onion rings and fries were good, but I would have preferred about 30 secs more in the deep fryer.

Yet the drinks were good and food as well our table of 12 while there with 3 more additional to join we spent quite a bit with at least more than 1/2 of us ordered food. The disappointment came when our table of 12 were shushed with the excuse they had cable company on phone. then a bit later I specifically was asked by our same waiter to shush because other patrons were wanting to leave. I was loud. There were 5 people besides our table. 2 women at a table 60ish and a table with 2 men and a woman who to me just as loud enjoying themselves. Yes that is it besides our table from 4pm to 7 pm that was all the patrons in this bar/restaurant.In addition they only accept cash or Venmo. hmmmm maybe not paying taxes. Well I gave no tip and why would I when asked in a bar to be quiet. Very rude
