Old Pony Martini Pub

Old Pony has been on my list of places to try for YEARS. I've walked past it countless times while on my way to Trader Joe's. Heck, I've smelled their food in the parking garage. I knew I HAD to try it.My boyfriend and I are not drinkers but we love some good bar food and I heard Old Pony does it right. Oh they definitely do it right! We left with two burgers and onion rings to share. The total was under $20. They also offer burgers on special on Sunday for $3, I believe. Old Pony offers smash burgers (burger patty, cheese, lettuce, onion and their special pony sauce.) Burgers don't have to be extravagant to be good. One bite into the burgers and we both agreed we would be back soon. The onion rings were still crispy on our drive home and they also hit the spot. For $20 for a meal for two -- you can't go wrong! Old Pony also offers daily drink specials and other fun food specials. Service was friendly for our carry out. Can't ask for much more!

First time visiting. Stopped on a whim. Maybe it was the location but I always thought it would be much larger and fancier than it is. AND THAT ISNT A BAD THING AT ALL! Sat myself and the lone bartender had a drink in my hand within five minutes. Simple american food. A place you can still get a real decent hamburger for six bucks. The drink menu is nice too. Many signature cocktails to choose from and it was a wednesday, so my "High Rye" was only six dollars. The decor was a bit dull, mostly black and edison bulbs. Maybe a few too many tvs blocking the few points of interest making it a bit too bright for my tastes. But ill definitely be back for their weekly and happy hour specials.

Ambiance is such a disappointment with a name like "Old Pony Martini Pub" which tbh is probably just a collection of words spit out by something like a nameyourbusiness.com website. The actual vibe bears no resemblance to that of the name, which implies a plush leather armchair, at least. The actual vibe is more like "Small Neighborhood Dive That's Not Even Cozy" (how can someplace small not be cozy? Somehow they figured it out.) They do have outdoor seating

Great spot! Came for a couple of drinks with my girlfriend and it didn't disappoint. Justin took the best care of us. He makes a mean Pineapple Express! Ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it hit the spot. We had an order of tasty fries as well but we dug into those too quickly to snap a pic.Perfect little place to grab a beverage and some good eats.

If you like a good smash burger & good drinks, this is your new place! Been coming here for years...it never disappoints, get the garlic fries and thank me later!!!!

Simply put, Old Pony is underrated. The food menu isn't as elaborate as the drink menu, but pricing is more than fair. My favorite martini of the 15+ options is the key lime pie martini. The double cheeseburger is one of the best the Pointes have to offer, and the chicken sandwiches are good options, as well. As for the French fries, there are 3 different kinds: garlic dill, golden, and hott. The garlic dill fries are definitely the way to go. This is a great spot to hang out, and the burger is seriously a must try for locals.

The ambiance was cute. I went on a week Dj's so it was not crowded at all. Only about 3 more parties besides the one I was with. I hadn't eaten all day so I ordered a grilled cheese. The wait time was quick. It came with fries and it was pretty good. The grilled cheese was on the thicker side which was great. Honestly my friend and I could have easily split the meal between the two of us and both been full.I got the strawberry cheesecake I believe martini. It was fantastic. It was a right balance of sweet and had enough alcohol in it to give me a nice buzz. I tried a few other martinis and one of their cocktail drinks but the first I had took the cake it was amazing. I would def recommend this spot for you and your friends. There's also a radio where you can play songs from your phone! Awesome little spot!

I came here with my bestie for martinis and bar food. It's an adorable bar in the quaint downtown Grosse pointe. Cool murals, amazing martinis and solid bar food . We started with the cucumber martinis and Ivy leagues and progressed to the Mr and Mrs martinis, fried green beans, dill fries, craisin salad and tachos kept us content.

The largest variety of martinis I've ever seen! The coolest bartenders that are highly skilled mixologists. And it's a little dark and loud with high tables, but outside seating is chill. Love going here!
