Old 23 Grill

We went there after months of not going. I ordered $40 worth of breakfast. I got 3 bags of food so I thought the order was complete. We get home and find that there was not one pat of butter, no syrup for 2 orders of French toast, and no silverware. Very disappointed. We threw the French toast out as we ordered take out because we were visiting.

New owner. It's not as good as it was under old owner. The menu is much smaller, no dinners. Owner and staff did not wear masks. Food is just fair. The owner sat down and dominated the conversation, even followed us out to the parking lot. That made it difficult to visit with friends we had not seen in while. We will probably not return.

Stopped in for dinner during the week, The restaurant was busy, but the wait staff made sure that I was taken care of. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The size of the plate was a good value. Three pieces of meatloaf a heaping portion of mashed potatoes and lots of gravy. The dinner came with a salad. The employees are very friendly And The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

Love old 23 grill. The owner are absolutely wonderful, and they have new specials posted every day. My family hasn't been disappointed with a single dish we've tried. Their homemade deserts are particularly delicious. Try the blueberry pancakes, the Rueben, any of the wraps, or skillets...you can't go wrong. Great diner in the middle of nowhere.

Ordered the chicken wrap, Greek salad, County Fries steak, and French Toast with sausage. All of the portions were Huge! Food was awesome! The staff were friendly, and my order was ready in 20 minutes like they said.

I like to find and eat in old school restaurants before there all gone. Well here in southeast Michigan I have found a real gem. The Old 23 grills has everything I'm looking for in a restaurant, been there at least 60 year, was last decorated about 1970, great food congenial staff, owner in the kitchen. I go out to eat almost every Thursday and yesterday I took my sister out to dinner here we had two wonderful burgers I had mushroom Swiss melt and she had a patty melt, both just wonderful meal and the tab was $20.00 why anyone get so called "Fast Food" is beyond me.

Was wanting to try someplace different and decided to try this restaurant. Having been by here so many times. Saw what their specials were for today and went here. I had the meatloaf special with a salad and a bowl of soup. Nice large glasses of water with our meal and a bread basket too. My wife had the chicken dinner special with a salad. Her chicken came as a 4 piece and she was too stuffed to finish. I helped with a wing and it was really good. It had like a fish batter that tasted great. The portions were a good size. The entire staff was great and friendly too, made us feel like regulars there. Will be going back again for sure.

Fantastic food and lots of it. Great prices. Super nice owners and staff. If you haven't stopped at "The Restaurant" in Ida, Old 23 Grill, you really need to try it.
