Ocean City Restaurant

I had lived in the neighborhood a few blocks from this place 25 years ago. It was our favorite go to Chinese resturant. I came back to see if it was still there when back in Pontiac on business. The staff are friendly. The food was good. It was not the exceptional food as I remember. The place ( building, parking, and restaurant ) have aged with less than steller upkeep. The back booths are stacked with supplies. Back in the day every seat would be occupied. I would go back. It is not what it was.

Ocean city restaurantI really wanted his place to be good. I've lived in Saginaw for about 20 years of my life and we make some good Chinese food. I've had the best Chinese food. Bar none.Sadly this place did not measure up.Let's us start with the order. I did not order the combo, yet they gave me the combo. I did not want the plain fried rice and the egg roll. FYI, if you get the combo, you get less food.I had the "Pepper Steak" and the "Szechuan Chicken". Those are Chinese restaurants claim to fame dishes. If those two dishes are not good then the rest is history. The pepper steak was good. Tasted like buffet style. The Szechuan Chicken was off. Looks like they lost the recipe for the sauce. Lastly was the egg roll. No. Just bad. The vegetables tasted overdue. Too much bean sprout. Bean sprout goes bad. Plus, the dipping sauce is too small to fit an egg roll. Sad. My mother and wife could make better egg rolls.I see a lot of customers. It's sad they don't know what good Chinese food is.Hit up "China 1" in hazel park, MI for excellent Real Chinese food. Also try "Dragon Palace" in Vassar, MI for great Real Chinese food.Recommended

Best lo Mein ever. Good Chinese shrimp. Good egg rolls. Predictable, reliable. 20-minute takeout.

Our favorite local-to-us place. The sweet and sour pork is my personal favorite, and is the style I grew up with - not red sauce. We also really enjoy their egg drop soup, wonton soup, and egg rolls

It's been over 20 years since I've eaten at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised that nothing has changed. Staff were super friendly , and the food was delicious. Huge servings, well prepared. I had the almond chicken and it was the best I've had in a while. Ambiance- well, it's a Chinese restaurant that has been around for a long time and does mostly take out. We were the only group of diners, but when the food and service are that good ambiance doesn't matter. My only complaint is that I live over an hour away so it will be a while before I can eat here again.

I ordered some won ton soup (large on yesterday, and it smelled and tasted sour. I haven't any problems or issues with Ocean City food, but yesterday wasn't a good day for the soup. I wasn't feeling well, and thought that I would get some soup, but to my disappointment, it was not good at (smelled like vinegar and sour won ton.Very disappointed.

Consistently good. Large quantities for price. Variety in menu. Dining room back open but very dated. I always get carry out. Order is accurate and fast.

I have been going here for 34 years and their Almond Boneless Chicken is the best! Occasionally they get some tough chicken and it's very disappointing so I really suggest they think about a better chicken provider.Everything I have had there is so good. The egg rolls and wonton soup are delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone because there are so many people that have no idea what good Chinese food tastes like. Places they say are good are awful!The prices here are so reasonable and the service is always good. The restaurant updated their floors but they really need to update the whole decor, inside and out. The food does make up for it!!

Not so good taste. Shrimp were soggy. Egg foo yong was good. The flavor is not the same.
