Number One Chinese Restaurant

Nothing to brag about service was rushed food was flavored but not enough meat with my portion 2 stars hopefully y'all get a better experience

I rarely ever go to an Americanized Chinese restaurant, but once in a blue moon, I get a craving for it. Finding a good one is often very difficult, especially in the neighborhood I was in.There was a good 20-25 min wait and food were cooked to order, a good sign. But after tasting it, some may have been reheated to order.Sesame chicken was not bad. The breading wasn't overly sweet and chicken was pretty juicy and tender. Fried rice that came w the food was bland and greasy.The chicken in almond chicken was thin and the breading tasted strongly of old oil. The pork lo Mein was over cooked, which was an unpleasant first for me. The shrimp egg foo young was perhaps best out of all the dishes. It was greasy, but sprouts helped mask the oily taste a bit. I also got a hot and sour soup, which tasted like ones I've had in the past. Pretty good, it had a lot of broccoli which I wasn't a fan of. It's presence didn't make much sense other than it just being a filler vegetable.Pretty disappointing dishes. On the bright side, I was able to salvage the fried rice by refrying and adding a bunch of stuff to it. Libby seemed disappointed that I didn't give her any, but I only give her food that I like.

I came for some chinese food but I saw they sell crab boils too. Ordered one and went i got home the crab legs was cold...had to reheat them and I didn't know what that sauce was they put on them but I never saw garlic bitter look green they charge a little too much for what they are serving. The shrimp not only had the shell still on but cooked with the legs on them too . I'll pass, Save your time

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants as well , I use to just order the same thing , but now I try different meals love it.

the best Chinese food i have ever had. i have come to this place all my life and no other Chinese restaurant ever comes close. the food is fresh, and the portions are very generous. i usually get the sesame chicken with fried rice, and i LOVE the sauce that they use on the chicken. depending on where you order from, sesame chicken can be a hit or miss but this place always gets it right! i also recommend the almond chicken or sweet and sour chicken. everything i have had here is great! there is always a long wait whether or not you order ahead, but that just means the food is being freshly prepared and not sitting under a heat lamp. i wish all Chinese restaurants tasted like number one!

There are a number of Number One Chinese Restaurants in Detroit. I have only been to this one. I don't even know if the same person owns them all. All I know is if you want good Chinese food go to this one. It's located in the Warren Conner Shopping Center. The food is excellent and cheap. Who said cheap food can't be good?. That being said why didn't I give it 5 stars? Because they are going to mess up your order. I didn't say they might mess up your order. I mean when you get home with your order it will be wrong. Not once but every single time you go there. I discovered hot and sour soup because they messed up my order and gave me hot and sour instead of egg drop. But I loved it and that's all I ever order now. So before you leave with your food make sure you have what you ordered. However, you probably won't be disappointed with whatever you end up with even if it's not what you ordered. You might discover a new dish that you probably would have never tried. So take a chance and go. BTW it's strictly carry out. There are a few chairs but those are for the people waiting to get their order right...:-)

Ordered through Door dash and the food is delicious. Arrived hot, well packaged and spot on with the special instructions I requested. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for good Chinese quisine.

Yes, this is not far from my home and the chicken egg foo young is the best. The food is always fresh and I would recommend this restaurant if you are a true chinese food lover. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken and he said it's number one on his list. The line smight be long but it's worth the wait.
