I have been going to New Mandarin Garden my whole life. It has been several years since we have been because of the proximity to where I currently live. We decided to celebrate my birthday here this year.My wife, daughter, and I arrived for dinner on a busy Saturday night. Thankfully we were able to get a table rather quickly.Service is always great and the drinks are always filled quickly. I ordered Mongolian beef and sizzling rice soup. My wife and daughter both got wonton soup and shared beef and stir fry wide noodles.The soups all came out quickly with a little show of dropping the crunchy rice into the soup for sizzling rice. The broth is a very nice light chicken broth with chunks of chicken, shrimp, peas, and other veggies. The same for the wonton soup, but with 2 nice wontons inside.The Mongolian beef is super tasty and tender, with plenty left to take home. The stir fry noodles are almost reminiscent of Thai wide noodles. It was peppery in all the right ways. Again, lots to take home.The restaurant has a really nice updated feel. I always loved their fish tanks as a kid and they are still very lively. Do yourself a favor and check out this Farmington Hills institution. My family has loved this spot for all 42 years I have been alive.

Our family has been going here for many years. I love their champong (Jam Pong) soup as it's nice and spicy. The broth and noodles are delicious. My hubby got the Singapore noodles (never had anything like it before), he really liked it and would order it again. My parents are jajjangmyun noodle (Ja Ja Noodle) experts, well, this time was a bit of a disappointment as it lacked a bit of flavor and had a lot less ingredients (shrimp, pork etc) in the sauce plus they didn't have any kimchi. This restaurant has been around a while and they have renovated it to make it a nicer ambiance. I know there are a lot of regulars and it's pretty good restaurant overall.

I forgot how much I liked this place. It's. It quite nearby. So we don't come over this way often. But since we were nearby, I figured we'd stop by. And it was very good. The seafood soup was filled with veggies. And the entree was Mongolian trio and had a lot of delicious protein and also a sweet and slightly spicy sauce. Overall enjoyed the meal a lot. And the service was very good too.

More like 2.5 stars. Came here today for dinner and ordered eggrolls, hot and sour soup, shrimp lo mein, sechuan beef, and almond chicken.Hot and sour soup and beef dish were the more flavorful of the bunch but almost everything had no flavor at all. The Lo mein had maybe 13 noodles in total and the rest was veggies and didn't taste like anything. As a matter of fact, the ABC was tons of veggies and normally there's none in that dish so that was interesting. Chicken FELT undercooked on my first bite so I didn't touch it again. Lots of veggies in all dishes as well as good quality of beef and shrimp. Price point was high for subpar Chinese food though. Atmosphere and service were great but I wouldn't return.

New mandarin is one of my favorite places to eat. We drive 45 min to satisfy our Chinese food craving. No other place comes close. We have been dining here for years and they are extremely consistent! My favorite dish is the almond boneless chicken. I get it every time. Other favs are the spicy garlic green beans, vegetable fried rice, Kung pao chicken and emperors shrimp. The service is always good, and food is always fresh.

I had no idea this place even existed until my dad told me about it. Since I was hungry for Chinese, he suggested we come here, since it's one of his favorites.Pulling in, the parking lots a bit of a mess. Pot holes everywhere and crumbling like no other. It could use a refresh! Walking in though the place is cute and well decorated. We were seated by the hostess near the fish tank which I loved, and our server came to our table to give us menus and such.The menu here's pretty thorough, and their prices are pretty decent. I started with Crab Rangoon which was fabulous by the way. They didn't offer any dipping sauce, but we did get these chips of some sort with sweet and sour sauce, which I used to dip the Rangoon in.My dad got the hot and sour soup, along with a beef dish. I went with the Sesame Chicken, which was a huge portion. While the chicken was good, it was kind of bland. The waitress asked me if I wanted it mild, medium or hot, and I should've gotten medium. They kind of skimped on the rice a bit especially since there was two of us. I wish they would've given us more.Even though the place is great, we barely saw our server. We ran out of water several times and had to flag her down for our bill. She was good when she was there though. Staff here's genuine and great so that's a bonus. Very friendly people, well versed just wish we had more rice!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant Oakland County. The owners are the best. The food is always consistently great. As we stated they had a fire and it is closed for remodeling. I cannot wait until they open again. Just praying that it's soon as the pickings are small for Chinese food of the same quality in the area. As of today, February 7, they have not reopened and the message does not give an indication of when they will.
