New China Restaurant Troy Michigan

We arrived at 6pm and the only other people there were our two friends we were meeting - should have been a sign. Since it was just the four of us, our food order was taken quickly and order came quickly. Here is how things shook out:Won ton soup: ok. Dumpling dough were a bit toughEgg rolls: not bad but had a slight taste of cinnamon (it was probably Chinese 5 spice)Almond chicken: pretty good BUT I asked for the gravy on the side. The gravy was rather tasteless and thankfully keeping it off the chicken kept the batter crispy. General Tso's: sauce had no flavor despite asking for "medium plus" spice level. Did not ask for sauce on the side so breading got soggy. Took most of this home and added more spice yo this soggy mess.

This place is very good. Fresh ingredients, quick turn around for pickup, and wonderful flavors. We have gotten food from here many times over the last year. Everything we've gotten is good. Last time I got Mongolian beef which was full of fresh veggies with a hint of spiciness. We also got crab rangoons and always get egg rolls. My kids love the food and it's never spicy which is good for them. Partner likes the abc chicken which is a fan favorite. Can't recommend this place enough. The freshest Chinese food we've had in the area.

Don't go here! Food is terrible! The restaurant has a nasty smell inside, horrible rude service!

The food continues to be consistently good. Even under stress of having to work well into retirement this family restaurant endures. You owe it to yourself to enjoy the quiet nostalgic atmosphere of the dining room. They outlasted Szechuan Garden. They didn't turn into a nightclub like Mao Jin Lao. It's good humble food from a hole in the wall. That's the best kind.

Only one server for 6+ tables. Egg roll just tasted like fry oil. Wonton soup was delicious, but my entree (sweet and sour chicken and fried rice) was bland and tasteless. Rice was greasy as well.

We've been coming here for at least 10 years and the food is consistently very good. It has a full traditional menu, plus a full bar. It is one of only a few Chinese restaurants that have in-dining available. We had Mongolian Beef, and Mushu Pork. Both were delicious. The dining room is 100% like a traditional Chinese restaurant. It could use some updating, but it is still nice.

Good food reasonably priced.. Small family business. Good service. Egg rolls too tough not very flavorful. Great hot & sour soup.

The food is great there and the service is excellent and friendly, the atmosphere is cozy.

I ordered 2 meals for pickup. I drove 20 minutes from Ferndale to Troy to pickup the food. Upon getting back home, I noticed they gave me the wrong order. I called and they acknowledged this. The guy on the phone said they had 2 orders with the same name. Then states "if you come back and pay the difference we'll give you the right order". LOL, WHAT? It's not my fault you gave me the wrong order. He then just refunded me the money. 24 hours later I call back to confirm the refund. The same guy states "Just be a little more observant next time you pick up an order". WHAT? Get out of here! Never again going to this place.
