New China Moon

Don't have a photo because I ate it too fast! Not sure if it's because I haven't had local Chinese food in months because I moved away for work. I've been coming here for over 10 years. The taste this time reminded me of a childhood restaurant that is long gone. The lady at the counter is always nice and engaging! This is a no frills spot, only like 2 tables. So basically, a carryout location. But it has been & continues to be my go to spot especially because the quality is consistent.

We regularly order take out from here often. We have our go to menu items we have loved over the years (is it really almost 20 years?!). The Tamil staff is always so nice and accommodating of our different orders. You would be hard pressed to beat New China Moon for value, quantity of food and overall deliciousness. Cannot recommend this establishment more for those who want a western influenced Chinese dish.

I went for lunch yesterday and chose #31 New Moon Chicken Lunch sized entree ($9) and a small Egg Drop Soup ($3). The soup was HOT & SAVORY on a cold rainy Michigan afternoon. The entree was brought out to my table SIZZLING from the wok. Everything was Great and TASTY. I put the fried rice in the remaining SWEET SAUCE from #31 and it was AMAZING! New China Moon is my "go to" place for excellent FLAVA at a reasonable PRICE when I want some Chinese FAST FOOD. Small dining area with just 2 tables. No public bathroom. But I refuse to knock them for this because the FOOD is OUTSTANDING!

Good food, I like the almond chicken and hubby likes garlic chicken egg rolls are not bad.

Very satisfying! It's not winning any awards for ambience or anything, but the carryout was tasty and plentiful. I think I have enough from a dinner combo plate and small soup for three meals.

We've never been let down by China Moon. The food is good and the employees are friendly and helpful. Our to-go orders have always been correct and ready quickly.Tonight when we stopped by, there was a woman waiting at the counter for her food who started a conversation with me. She said she'd been driving around looking for good Chinese food, and saw this place. After coming in and asking for a sample (why didn't I ever think to try this when I was broke in college??), she decided to order her dinner. What a plan!We consistently get the Sesame Chicken, and it's enough for the two of us to share, as long as we get an extra egg roll. If we could figure out some way to get the extra egg roll as a replacement for the broccoli (which we never eat), life would be even better.

Overall, as it relates to taste, it's okay. The sauce for the General Tso Chicken is good, but the fried rice has no flavor. It's just rice that has been colored brown.As far as customer service, it depends on who serves you. The elderly woman is often rude. The younger women is always pleasant.My major complaint is the poor food safety practices. The elderly woman wears gloves, but she's handling EVERYTHING (cash, cards, food, phone) with the same gloves on. The point of wearing gloves when handling food is to keep us safe. I try to just do business with the younger woman and avoid ordering when I see that the younger woman isn't present.

I like their food. Their portion sizes are just right for me. Their prices are comparable to other places in the area, maybe a little cheaper. But what I love the most is that they offer lunch all day unlike most places that end lunch at 2 or 3. Sometimes I'm not really that hungry and want a lunch size portion at dinner. I love their Ban Ban Chicken. But be aware if you plan to use a debit or card there is a $10 minimum. So if you order lunch that is under $10 and you use a card they charge you $10 anyway. But I always pay in cash so to me it's not really a problem. But they do have great food. I very seldom give a restaurant 5 stars but because they offer lunch all day I'm giving them 5 stars. Congratulations.

I have been a customer of this place for quite a while. Food is always great and you are always greeted with a smile. Great place!

Ordered cashew chicken. Last 2 times I had to request more as there were hardly any. When I got it home tonight - not ONE cashew, not one !!! What are we paying for?
