Never Forgotten Bakery

Never Forgotten Bakery has taken over for the former, Sunflour Bakehaus. The new location is in a strip mall off of Orchard Lake Road. The service is always pleasant and cheerful, and they give you that awesome feeling of community and family. The favorite of mine, and I'm sure a lot of others would agree, is the Old World Bread. It is simple, but delicious. Come a little after 11am and get it still warm. It makes an amazing grilled cheese. It's a must try. Other kinds of bread are made throughout the week and they are always changing for days and with the holidays. Along with bread there is a wide variety of things like cookies, pastries, muffins, and scones. A visit on a Saturday will get you fresh made pretzels that are a must. They have started create a website you can order ahead on some products. Check it out if you are in a hurry. If you are like me, you can hit the gym down the road, burn off calories, and replace them with delicious carbs with no guilt. :)

Bought a variety of their large cookies to surprise my family: chocolate chip, molasses, peanut butter, and oatmeal. They sell a smaller size as well. Delicious. Super nice people. Very helpful!

The up side is that they were able to do my order on four days notice BUT the cake itself left a lot to be desired. The cake was dry and the icing had. . . I don't know how to describe it. A grainy texture. It wasn't really smooth. Also, the side of the cake wasn't completely covered in icing. You could see the cake, like it had been raked too close. Definitely too much money for what I got. Half a sheet cake for $60. I'll stick with Costco in the future.

A gem full of delicious treats. We love the square shaped cupcakes, and the bumpy cake cupcake! We also tried their simple ingredient homemade bread, took it home and made grilled cheese sandwiches per the owner Michelle's recommendation, and it was delicious. While there, we also talked with another satisfied customer who was raving about the peanut butter cookies and how she drove miles to this place just for them. Love finding local spots like this!!

While this bakery might not offer as large of a selection on a day-to-day basis as other bakeries, their products are top notch. Checkout their website and social media to see their baking schedule as they offer different products on different days. Some of the staples are available every day. Everything I've tried has been great, from their sweets to their different breads.

I've been in several times, and everyone there is so friendly and the treats are delicious. I was wondering what to try, and they recommended the gooey butter cake... oh my gosh, it is out of this world. I'm also a big fan of the everything garlic bread. Just the hint of red pepper flakes is perfect. Looking forward to my next visit!
