Delightful holiday performance. The view of the stage was very nice, from all the seats. The auditorium felt cozy.

Our first experience with music Hall Performing Arts Center. What a delight. Downtown Detroit during the holidays is magical. The Music Hall is a big part of that magic. We arrived early for our Nutcracker performance in a Saturday evening and had no problems parking in the lot adjacent to the venue. Parking was $20 which was a good price for the area. Other lots were charging. $20-$30. We felt our car was safe and attended to. We then entered the Hall early and were allowed to walk around with few visitors. What a treat. The architecture is beautiful with so many details to view. There was a jazz lounge which looked like a nice place to hang out and socialize before a performance. The bathrooms were spotless. We then walked around the downtown and took in all the holiday lights. Truly beautiful. The downtown area is vibrant, busy and feels very safe to explore on foot. Our seats, center mezzanine, were perfect. The attendants were helpful. The carpets and chairs were clean. Our seats were comfortable. The auditorium felt intimate and cozy though big enough to accommodate a good number of people. I would have been pleased with any seat in the house. We loved the State Ballet of Ukraine's rendition of the Nutcracker. Perfect night and experience to begin the holidays.

I went here to see a concert. I prepaid for parking bit there was parking pretty close to the venue. The entry was pretty quick. There is a bar on the first level and a smaller one on the 2nd floor to grab a drink. The host assist you with finding a seat pretty quick. The bars only have chips and candy. No real food. The atmosphere is pretty quaint. There are really no terrible seats that are too far back. I has a seat that was pretty close. The sound system and lighting are great.

This is an iconic entertainment/concert venue in downtown Detroit. This used to be home to some of the leading Motown acts including; Martha Reeves, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, etc. It's mainly used now for private events but still has all the charm and ambiance that it did back in the day.

We walked to the Music Hall Center from the Z Lot, and it was a nice short walk. The edifice from the outside looks amazing. Brightly lit and engaging. When we arrived our tickets were checked via the Ticketmaster mobile app, and we got in quickly. That's when things began to turn. We were told to go up the stairs to get to our seat where there was a long line, which my guest and I figured was because the show was starting in 12 minutes and people were getting to their seats. But no, it was because our tickets were being checked a second time. Mmmmmm...okay, I guess I can see there being extra security to ensure that randos didn't get past the first check in. We were annoyed, but figured it'd be no big deal. After the 2nd check-in we walked about 25 feet to, GUESS WHAT? A 3rd F'ing check-in. We were both pissed at this point, and decided to use the restroom while people were being checked once again. The male bathroom was horrendous. Broken/no latch on stall one, pee all over the seat in stall two, and the last stall was STUFFED with tissue paper and feces. Maybe instead of having so many ushers checking seats multiple times you should have restroom attendants cleaning. After unsuccessfully using the restroom due to the funk and disorder, I went back upstairs to get to my seat. There was still a line. I was annoyed and just walked past the line to seat myself. I don't need my hand held to read a seat row and seat number. Once the show started, there were a few rowdy guests, which security should have taken care of. As the show progressed the loud patrons, who were obviously drunk, became more boisterous and obnoxious. Even the star of the show called for security because they wouldn't stop yelling out. Security should have removed them earlier, or at the very least talked to them, asking them to remain silent. Why else did the theater only receive 3 stars? The kept allowing audience members to walk in 15+ minutes late to the show, which is distracting to the audience and the star of the show. NOT GOOD. You come late, you don't see the show (or at least wait for intermission). Those late MFs shouldn't have the opportunity to ruin the show for the rest of us.Lastly, there was an usher who, bless her heart, was nice enough, but she kept walking up and down the aisle alone, as if she was watching the show, and it was very distracting, particularly when she'd stop in front of you and block your view. Bottom line is the management team here at this venue needs to do just that - MANAGE. Manage the team to be more useful (cleaning rather than redundant check-in posts), ask security to be more vigilant, and ask the ushers to stop needlessly walking down the quiet aisle and go walk by the rowdy people, where you may actually do some good.

Not handicap friendly, whatsoever. But a great venue to see a performance. The drinks they make there are excellent, top notch. Did not see a well brand at all behind the bar.

This venue has charm but it's lacking some upgrades. First thing I noticed when walking in the door was the lobby area was very small and crowed. They had the entrances to the seating areas roped off until about 30 mins before the show so everyone was crammed inside the tiny lobby. Guests are required to show a covid vaccination card or recent covid test and to wear a mask, but then they are packed like sardines in the waiting area. Makes since, huh?! The women's restroom is down a few flights of stairs from the entrance floor. There are quite a few stairs so not convenient for anyone who doesn't do stairs well. I'm sure there must be a elevator somewhere. Down a half flight of stairs is a lounge area (Jazz cafe) with some food and variety of drinks (see menu photos). It was packed full of people too. Some sitting and other standing. I was tempted by a drink until I saw the size of the cup and the price. Overall it seemed to be a hip hang out. When it came to seating, our usher was confused. Odd seats are on one side and even on the other. I guess she didn't realize that. Another couple was also directed our way and there was some confusion about if we were in the right seats. Turns out they were up a floor. Talk about awkward. My chief complaint about this venue is the seating. The seats are crowed and so uncomfortable!!! By the time intermission came, I could hardly sit anymore. My bottom hurt bad even though I was moving frequently to find different positions. I'm sure it's costly to renovate the seats but it sure would pay off in the end. Overall, I love the historical feel of Music Hall and I really enjoyed the show, Waitress, but it's not my favorite downtown Detroit venue.
