Mr. Kabob Xpress

Mr. Kabob Xpress is one of my favorite lunchtime places downtown. The bowls are always delicious, and I've had mine both healthy with hummus, chickpeas, and vegetables, as well as on the less healthy side with their delicious crispy fries. Some downsides keep it from getting five stars. The bowls are expensive. It is more expensive than comparable restaurants in the metro area. Depending on meat and topping choices, you could easily spend $20 on a bowl. It's a pain to find parking outside the restaurant. I've had minor communication issues with the people creating the bowls. Sometimes we don't understand each other. I saw that there are more Mr. Kabob Xpress locations in the suburbs. I plan to dine at one later this year. I'm hoping the taste is as good as this one downtown.

Let's just say I was pretty impressed with the food here. I was honestly a little skeptical with the reviews and the decor of this restaurant, but that quickly changed once I tried my food. I had the Beef Shawarma wrap combo. The combo includes a side. I went with the Greek Salad. I added the garlic sauce and hummus to my beef Shawarma wrap. It added so much flavor I couldn't get enough. The Greek Salad was on par also. Tons of flavor pulled high. Dressing was homemade and perfect. I highly recommend you try this place. Definitely a bunch of healthy options for those who want it.

Quick, good quality food. I like that there are lots of options. Especially the different flavors of hummus. Go to spot for me.

This is a good place for a quick lunch, as the service is friendly and speedy, even with a lot of customers coming in and out. I got the chicken ghallaba, which would be a solidly four-star meal because it has so much flavor and is fun to eat, but I dropped a star for the accompanying side of grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables looked like someone got too lazy to chop up the vegetables, and were huge portions of vegetables that didn't taste very fresh or flavorful. It was an especially stark comparison since the chicken ghallaba had smaller, flavorful vegetables mixed into their dish. Next time, I'll get the rice.Nevertheless, I would recommend this place for a lunch rotation - just don't get the grilled vegetables.

It was good. I enjoyed my chicken breast wrap. The rice was okay, it was kind of bland. I didn't really care for all that paprika on top. I'll go back to try something new though.

Their bowls are soo good! The wait inside is usually long but so worth it! The meats are always fresh and the staff is super friendly! Try the hummus, it is to die for!!

I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl with the Ritual app. The toppings and options were extensive The bowl was packed to the brim. The bowl was ready promptly. The only thing I asked for were some of the sauces on the side, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. It was still great nonetheless. I couldn't even finish the bowl in one sitting. I wish I would've added the pita chips or pita bread. I missed that. You will definitely get a couple of meals from one bowl here.

First the staff is horrible, I walked in an two employees ignore me, the other one is fighting with another customer on price because they overcharged the client. Then comes food, they nickel and dime on everything, it is so bland and unflavorful, and they don't even what is in the food when you ask.This place is not worth your time and money.

This place is overpriced and has a terrible menu set up ! I ordered food 15JAN2020 for my job. No one's order was correct. The food was disgusting. I paid $50 for 3 people and not one of us were happy Thanks.

This is hands down my favorite place to grab a quick lunch in Detroit. Great people, amazing food, and fast service. I have eaten 2-3x a week here for the last few years if that says anything. My go-to is the half Chicken Shawarma entree, rice, house salad, and extra mini garlic. ALWAYS get the extra mini garlic, you won't regret it.
