Mr Chicken of Redford

Best broasted chicken around for years. The fried perch is also delicious. Anytime someone gets chicken for a banquet or party this is where they go. If you like broasted chicken give it a try.

Always my go to place for chicken when I am visiting Detroit. Broasted chicken is very unique, just like fried chicken but not greasy at all. Full of flavors with a crispy outside. I also had the fried fish, very fresh with taste and not greasy as well. The staff are always welcoming with smile and quick service. The place is always clean with a good view of their kitchen.

Seems to have changed for the worse. Broasted chicken had no taste. Potato wedges were way over cooked.after decades going to look elsewhere for chicken. Too many choices these days

This chicken is broasted to perfection, however it has absolutely no seasoning it tastes like fried flour and the price they charge should warrant enough spice to fully enjoy the chicken.

My friends and I came out to Redford to eat at another Restaurant. Sadly we discovered BET & Jessie's Fish and Chips was out of business. I got on yelp and found Mr. Chicken.I saw that they had been around since 1972. So we decided to check it out.​We arrived, and we got seated. Our waitress Riley was delightful. My buddy Craig and I had the fish and broasted potatoes. Paul had chicken breast and broasted potatoes. The food was amazing. I also want to point out I am not a big fan of coleslaw, but I have to say theirs was yummy. When we were leaving, they thanked us for coming.Great place if you have not tried this place, you are missing out. I will be going back

Oh my god, can someone tell me why in the hell we don't have broasted chicken in the San Francisco Bay Area? They're absolutely delicious. This was my second time trying broasted chicken in Michigan, and they were great both time. One thing I immediately noticed about the difference between broasted and deep fried chicken was broasted chicken didn't have as much breading, so as a result I got this thin crispy fried skin which was sheer heaven in my mouth. And since it didn't have as much breading as deep fried chicken, perhaps broasted chicken would be healthier, lol. Hopefully.This place definitely cooked their chicken well. The outside was super crispy and the inside was very moist yet you'd find no pink chicken there; everything was fully cooked. I also trued their broasted potatoes which were awesome and tender on the inside with rather crunchy outer coating. When you visit this place you gotta try their coleslaw too; it was a chopped (not shredded) cabbage in sweet creamy dressing; it was magnificent!!!

I see a lot of people saying it's bland. If your for some blackened, Caribbean jerked, mahi mahi, gold wrapped stupid something this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a good country dinner, with nicely breaded, juicy, tender chicken. This is place. From some one who knows a lot about meat I can tell these are good chickens. White meat through, no red veins or blood blotches, no broken bones, no misshapen bones, nothing. This is good quality meat, and the proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the chicken itself. Loved the food, will definitely come again

This is one of the worst chicken spots that I've ever ate at. How are you a chicken spot and you have to pay for hot sauce? My chicken taste like it was spoiled and not fried all the way. Shrimp look like it came straight out of a Kroger box. All around I'm not impressed at all.

Chicken was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor/bland. Sides were missing the homemade flavor. I think I'll take this one off my return to list

Got Carry out about a week ago on a Friday night 12 piece chicken dinner which was excellent. Coleslaw's the best service 8 was excellent
