Motor City Coney Island Restaurant

Rudest establishment I've been ever to. The server/cook behind the window was actually so nice as we looked over the menu. I was taking pictures for Yelp and a lady busted out from the side door and asked my family "what are you doing?". I said "ordering!?". She then said in an accusatory tone, "Well I saw you taking pictures on the camera. Why?" I kindly answered "I'm taking pictures for Yelp." She said "You're posting those pictures on Yelp? Why?" I said "Well we're visiting from out of town and this is the first Coney Island I've been to so I wanted to take pictures". She looks at my family, my husband holding two toddlers who are asking for pancakes and bacon, and looked back at me with disgust as if we are causing havoc in her restaurant.My husband took the kids, we thanked the lady behind the window, and left. This is the most unwelcoming and ABSURD experience I've had at any establishment. I made sure I answered in the most polite way but the lady ensured that we felt unwelcome. When my kids asked why we were leaving, I answered with "they don't want us here."

This used to be my "go to" Coney Island. I used to love the chili fries special with cheese. Lately, this item has been a miss. I used to be served a container full of fries, chili, cheese topped with ground beef. Now, the container might be 75% full (multiple times) with barely enough chili and ground beef is sparse. Now, it's topped with onions, though didn't used to be. My other "beef" is with the coney dogs. The buns are often hard as if frozen and then thawed. Now, I just go to the completion down the street.

Rude staff--"Don't do add-ons at window"I visited Motor City Coney Island Restaurant on 6/Oakland for lunch and after being rushed through my order at the speaker, I forgot to order a side a ranch and something to drink.In my mind that's something simple that I can add on at the window...I pulled forward to the window , waited about 10 mins--I guess they were going to take my payment when the food was ready because no one was there...(it's only one window y'all, but that's okay).The lady comes to the window and gives me my total ( of course she didn't greet me, I didn't expect her to from her tone over the speaker).Me: "Hi! Can you add a side of ranch and a lemona--"Her: "I don't do add-ons at the window"Me: "Okay, can you just give me the side of ranch then?"Her: "I don't do add-ons"Me: "Okay, I don't want any of it then"--drives off.Her: "Okay then" (y'all know exactly how she said it)I will never support poor customer service EVER!Poor customer service will make me lose my appetite real quick....I normally don't rant on reviews but not only was my time on lunch wasted I had to rush to get food elsewhere all because of a side of ranch!There was no way I was paying for that type of service. Please reevaluate your staff before you lose several more customers!

This is easily one of my favorite's of all Coney Island in my area, we order lunch from here often when I'm at work. They use to have a delivery service for business but that hasn't been available for quite a while and I do miss that! But I would definitely recommend locals in the area to definitely experience some great take out from here.

Great place to eat after hours. We had a blast and our bellies were full. I finished my chilli fries the next morning for breakfast. I remember dreaming about them. The bear hangover food

I'm heading over to y'all again, I'm rarely ever disappointed with the service and stuff.

The customer service at 1am was trash. The lady was rude and short. We waited in the drive thru at 1am for 45 mins. They give us our food and one of our orders was not correct. The food was good but once i ate it, it wasn't impressive. I'm pissed lol

My Husband order from here about a 2 was ago my ham was overcooked on the sandwich I just thought maybe it's just one of them days ...Tonight I door dashed a steak sub hate to say it but it was horrible overcooked very overseasoned hard bread for 20 dollars it's sad that can't spend your money in your neighborhood The place has changed since under new management no stars for them

My order was handed to someone else. When the realised it was not there order they took it back. I was then handed the same order that left and came back. The people taking orders are rude. I won't be back.

On 1-3-2024 I purchased four coney's they were very good.Customer Service was excellent chili thick not runny.Good flavor chili thick and Coneys was Great...Parking lot clean quick service thru, dr thru...I will be back....Been many years since i came to this coney...
