This was my first visit to Miguel's Cantina, and I was impressed when I walked in. The interior is very clean, and the decor beautifully captures the essence of a Mexican town, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I was welcomed with a friendly smile and quick assistance, and my carryout order was ready in just a few minutes.I tried the three enchiladas with the red sauce on the side and rice, skipping the beans. While the seasoning on the shredded chicken was pretty good, I found the rice very dry, and the cheese on the enchiladas was only lightly melted. To my disappointment, I had to microwave my meal when I got to work, which is less than a mile away.I rated my experience two stars. Though I appreciated the flavors, I felt the overall quality didn't quite match the $15 price point. I believe food should be prepared and served fresh and shouldn't require reheating right after purchase, so I'm hesitant to return.

Been here in the past and it was much better. Still clean, service was good but to be fair it was lunch time and nearly empty. I had a burrito and it just didn't match up with other Mexican place in the area (and there are many others). Sorry to say but it would be very easy to find better Tex-Mex.

The salsa was bland and dark brown. Chips tasted like they were fried in old oil. Ordered the taco americano meat was bland. Taco shell tasted like old oil. Couldn't get past the 1 taco shell. There was an aftertaste that made me order a coke to rinse the taste out of my mouth. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Taco Bell has better tasting food.

Three of us girls went to dinner at Miguel's Cantina (Shelby Township) last night. This is how it went. Chips and salsa: The chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil and had a funny taste. The waitress said that happens sometimes with the chips that are at the bottom of the warmer. She brought us a new basket and they were fine. The salsa had no flavor, but we jazzed it up with salt and hot sauce. My girlfriend ordered carnita meat for her botana and they gave her ground beef. She did not want to wait for it to be corrected/remade. She ate it and said it was "okay". I ordered a bowl. Refried beans, rice, lettuce, onion, jalapenos and cilantro. My meal came without the refried beans. They did correct my order and brought the refried beans and everything was delicious, once I put it all together. When I got home and looked on my bill, I was charged for a bowl with meat instead of the bowl without meat. Ugh...so mad that I didn't catch that. The bathroom. Paper towel all over the floor near the trash can, and toilet paper all over the floor in the stalls, that kept sticking to the bottom of my shoe! Not the cleanest bathroom that I have seen. I addressed the mess and filth of the sink with a woman who came in to "fix" the hand towel dispenser. She said it was stained. I grabbed a paper towel and proceeded to "scrap" the filth off the sink, to show her "pretending" the filth doesn't exist, does not mean the filth isn't there. While walking out, the manager was standing outside of the bathroom door and I invited him to inspect the mess and filth. ...but it's never like that...it's a fluke (eye roll) and I commented that I wondered what the kitchen looks like with bathrooms so poorly maintained. He took me to the kitchen and the counters and floors appeared clean, but I did not inspect the ovens and freezer/coolers...hahahaha...that would have been taking it too far.

Went to their soft opening at the newest location in downtown utica and it did not disappoint! The food was great, fresh and very flavorful. The atmosphere was awesome, we sat up at the bar and had excellent service from the bartender. It's a great place to meet up with friends plus they have an outdoor patio for the summer. It's just down the street from Jimmy Johns field. It's definitely a great date night idea, catch a game and have some awesome Mexican food before or after. Definitely check it out, a great addition to the downtown area.

Read a post a few days ago on Facebook and thought we would try dinner here over the weekend. We arrived around 5:30 and were easily seated. The decor is very well done. The restaurant proper is very clean and presents as well maintained. There is a good size bar area too! We were served chips and salsa. The chips were great. The salsa was not my fav as it was a littie heavy on the lime and cilantro for me. The Chili Con Queso was the basic white cheese sauce. We enjoyed it and did add chorizo. For our meals: The Burria Tacos which I can say they were the best I have had. The beef was plentiful, juicy, perfectly seasoned, not salty and the consommé was spot on.The rice is good and the beans were tasty. The Quesadilla Tradicional with steak we had specialty prepared as a " Super Quesadilla" were they form a crunchy cheese crust on the outside of the flour quesadilla. This was so yummy!! There was a good amount of steak which was very tasty, well seasoned and moist. We are cheese lovers and this did not disappoint. This was served with a nice scoop each of very fresh pico, guacamole and sour cream served on the side. Lime was a littie heavy again in the pico and guac but both did have a great flavor. For Desert we had the house made Tres Leches Cake which was nicely prepared. Service was great and staff from host to wait staff were very friendly. Food arrived promptly. We saw a few Fajitas come out that were sizzling away quite nicely! They smelled so good! We will definitely be returning.

Had the Bria tacos. and a mango margarita. both with soo flavorful and good portions. Had chips and a very tasty salsa - very original flavor not just sauce. we closed down the restaurant and then some, didn't even realize what time it was! they were very patient and never once asked us to leave even tho they were closing lol!
