I had a small private event with some friends and family here. We all had a great time. The staff was amazing and accommodating. We loved the drinks our wine educator chose. I'm excited to try the food. I plan to hangout here from time to time. Everyone who attended want to host some kind over event here.

I LOVE this place. I had never heard of Michigan by the Bottle until they did a sparkling Saturday event with 5 tasters of sparkling wine from a local vineyard. I came with a couple girlfriends around 1 pm and the place was busy but not packed by any means. We sat at the bar and were quickly seated. The wines were all VERY tasty. They had a promo in addition to the tasters only being $15 where you received $5 off a bottle of wine should you purchase it that day. While I didn't indulge further, my friend did and it was still so tasty later that night! The wines were paired with a little serving of cheeses and dark chocolate. Just an amazing spread all around. The employees there are nothing short of incredible. They're kind, attentive, and total hype masters. I've never felt more safe and like I belonged seated at a bar before, and with how things have been going lately, I almost cried with how amazing that felt. I can't even wait to be back.

Live music and fun hosted events occasionally, great wine, great times! We used to live close to this place (which made us come here a lot). We heard about this place via Facebook and came in for one of their birthday celebration events a few years ago. We've been hooked on this place since. They have a wide selection of fruity, mellow, and bold wines. On top of that, there's some small treats like a cheese & chocolate plate, a soft pretzel, and some other small bites to eat while you're enjoying some wine.Other than the birthday celebration, we've enjoyed a few of their events including a wine glass painting party, as well as some live acoustic guitar singers. It's a very homey atmosphere so it creates a great wine tasting experience. Friendly staff also work here, which enhances the wine tasting experience even more!Like with any place on Woodward, parking in the back is always the suggestion. Luckily this location backs up to a larger office building lot, so there's plenty of parking to come in through the back entrance. We love our MBTB!

Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room (Royal Oak) is a cool place to explore Michigan-made wine, learn about various types of wines, and explore all aspects of wine making and tasting without actually visiting a winery. My friend and I enjoyed a class recently and have each vowed to attend more classes and visit the other area locations.I'm also interested in checking out the wine club, live music events, and learning more about their winery partners. Trips to a few wineries is at the top of my to-do list.Other classes are offered making it a great place for exploring new hobbies and experiences.I am also interested in their script and charcuterie classes, and pub quiz nights. You can enjoy your wine with various noshes, such as warm pretzels, cheese plates, and sweet treats all locally made. The wine popsicles are dreamy. I definitely need to start making those at home!Classes are inexpensive, informative and fun. There's plenty of parking in the back lot.

Came here when our other wine plans fell through. They were willing to accommodate 7 of us on a Friday night at 6:15. They were very helpful and friendly. The environment is not as cozy as a winery up north. You don't feel like you really want to sit and stay for a while. But the nice selection of wine will make me return!

This concept was so exciting, as I've tried all the amazing wineries along the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, so my expectations were high. But, it seems Michigan by the Bottle Tasting room has selected the wines of the mitten that are abysmal to meh.Randomly wandered in about an hour after they opened, we were the only customers. Found it strange that I'd only heard of 1-2 of the wineries featured on the menu, and even stranger yet the prices for the tasting!! Go to any west Michigan winery, and you can get 5 pours for $10 roughly...here it was 3 for $15 I believe. Oof.Now, maybe if they chose the best of the best, it would be worth it. But even with the $5 credit off a bottle that comes with a tasting, we were having a hard time figuring out what to spend the credit on...that's a problem. One of the wines literally tasted like tires lol. The server was sympathetic and gave us a taste of something else in lieu of that vile white cherry wine. Before coming here, I considered having my birthday gathering here, and I'm so glad I didn't! Not sure if I'd even come back here, maybe the other locations are better? The concept is great, but they need to chose better wine/wineries to partner with!MBTB, I'm rooting for you, but you have a lot of work to do to improve!

Disappointing. I was looking for insight and discovery of curated Michigan wine gems. Unfortunately the staff, and the wine offering missed the mark.At first glance the tasting selection seems broad, but after closer review it's a limited group of wineries, with all their varietal attempts (some good, some not so good). The other surprise, the staff didn't seem to know much about the wines they did carry. I honestly can't recall learning anything insightful about the wines (e.g. vineyards, wine making approach, wine maker, history). Nothing. Just there to pour wine I guess. Maybe an off night.I liked the concept of focusing on Michigan wines and making them accessible with these store locations - but hoping they make it easy for anyone to try the best Michigan has to offer.

Wine tasting at its best. Loved the atmosphere, wide variety of wines to choose from, game/trivia night, great place for date or just going out with friends. Make sure you pick up a bottle of your favorite wine!

The pros: the wine was delicious. The selection was pretty sizable. The chip dips were finger-licking-good. The decor and atmosphere were fun(ish). Staff is friendly. Prices are fair. Wine flights are fun and different. I liked the festive turkey sheet they put the wine on.The cons: the service is incredibly slow and leaves A LOT to be desired. I had to continually move empty glasses to another table and had to go to the bar at least 5 times for water refills. The chocolate that comes with the flight was yuck. Also, while I love the wine flight, WHY wouldn't they figure out something smaller to serve it in?! Our table was overwhelmingly filled with huge wine glasses. Verdict: Meh. The company was amazing, so I had a great time, but I think I'd probably prefer a different location for happy hour next time.
