Mezcal Mexican Bar & Kitchen

We don't eat out very often these days, but we wanted to give Mezcal a try. It's extra disappointing when you finally do go out hoping for a nice dinner and the restaurant falls short.Service was remarkably slow. It took 15 minutes to even be addressed by a server, questioning if we were his table and then returning 5 minutes later to say we were, dropping off waters, and still making us wait to order. It was at least 20/25 minutes before we were able to order drinks and an appetizer. Our chips came quickly, the trio of dips was good! We waited a while for our drinks. We ordered spicy palomas with mezcal and they were great. After another long wait, we finally got a hold of our server to order their new fajitas. They forgot the beans and rice so we waited again to address that. Don't order the fajitas expecting a typical Mexican restaurant experience - portion was quite small. We had maybe 3 oz of chicken and mostly a skillet of peppers and onions. The fajitas did not come with any toppings like salsa.We *again* waited 15 minutes from the time we requested our check until receiving it. It was just a TON of waiting. Food was pretty good but the experience ruined it. It's okay to wait for food or drinks, but not to be addressed by staff. We felt neglected and I would hate to recommend this place and have the same happen to you.

I had a taco craving and came to the nearest new spot to satisfy it. This spot is very cute with a very nice patio area to enjoy during nice weather (like today). The host and all servers are very friendly. The issue here is the service is just super slow. The chicken nachos is a very decent portion size. I ordered it with chicken but the meat was lacking flavor.They give a lot of toppings but it just did not make up for the flavor of the chicken. The corn dish was really good and the birria egg roll was perfect. if your in ferndale check them out. unsure if i was wowed at all so coming back is iffy for me

Fantastic food and atmosphere! I got the fajitas on special and husband had a few of the tacos. We enjoyed our time here!

The Queso here is great! And I'm big on a great queso lol. The options for tequila are great too! It's a great place to have Taco Tuesday with a friend!

A great spot for food and drinks with a cool vibe! Drinks are delicious, and I recommend the fish tacos! I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in the area again.

Absolutely love Mezcal! I've been here a few times and had an incredible experience each time. The vibe is so fun and I love all of the vibrant murals and decor. Service is excellent and we always have the wait staff and owner checking in on us to see if we need anything. Food is delicious and portions are great. The California burrito is my personal favorite. I'm craving it right now just thinking about the fries and flavors in the burrito. Definitely must try! Chips and salsa are always fresh. Buffalo chicken fries were also a nice touch to our meal. Overall great experience and can't wait to come back!

I love the indoor outdoor walk up bar space this restaurant has. Not very big. The waiter was nice but not checking on my table at all. We ordered chips and queso two street tacos with fries and a spicy paloma with top Shelf tequila. My son had a lemonade with his taco. I think people should Stop in and try the food and drinks. I just wish the place was a bit cleaner and the waiter checked on the table more.

What a cute small restaurant!!I was seated outside, where I can feel the nice breeze, listen to Latino music, and people watch I first ordered my margarita which was delicious!The buffalo fries were equally great as well. Just the right amount of sauce and chicken bites on top of the fries. As of the Quesabrilla. It was delicious, if it just had a tad more meat would've been perfect!

What great place. I have a beef wet burrito and my wife had nachos. We had great service and the manager stopped to check on us. I loved the green sauce on the burrito. Great place!

I ordered the chimichangas and could not finish it! The portions are filling to say the least. The staff were friendly and very warm. We opted to sit inside but there are choices here. Maybe next time I'll pick the patio. I really enjoyed my experience at Mezcal and will definitely be back.
