This place is SOOOOOOO good! There are almost too many choices. lol It is easy to get overwhelmed with the options in front of you. I have not had a bad treat here yet and the prices cannot be beat! Every item is fresh and creative! Highly recommend the brownie croissant or the strawberry croissant roll!

After eating dinner in Corktown, we were looking for something sweet. And since they're open till nine, we hurried over before closing. We got a few items to share and everything was enjoyable and tasty. I really liked the pink and yellow pastries (concha), but the cake and meringues were good too. And I would say, considering the prices of things these days, they were reasonable as well. The decor is pretty simple and the service was good, but I definitely felt that getting there at 8:30. Everyone was tasked with trying to get things cleaned up so they could leave for the day. Certainly not a big deal but worth mentioning. I Definitely recommend checking Mexicantown, bakery out if you're in the area.

Mexicantown Bakery is probably the best in the area. I would focus on their cakes instead of breads and donuts. Their flan, and fruit tart are the best things there. Pan dulce is ok, depends on when you visit, sometimes it is drier and tougher. Plenty of customers night and day so they are definitely doing something right.

Best Tres Leches! The texture of the cake was perfectly moist and had the right amount of sweetness. It was so much better than any other Tres Leches I've had. They have different flavors including traditional, chocolate, caramel and Pina colada. They come in different sizes and shapes. They also sell it by the slice. It's the perfect cake to bring for a celebration. The bakery also serves variety of other baked goods and pastries. I tried the spiral croissant with pistachio frosting. I thought the filling inside would also have pistachio cream but it was just plain vanilla custard. The croissant itself was a bit bland and not as fresh tasting as I was hoping for. I tried a couple other pastries that tasted stale and dry.I'd only come back for the cakes and skip on the pastries.

My boyfriend FaceTimed me while he was at this bakery. Their selection looked wonderful and I asked for him to bring me back a traditional concha. It tasted really good. It was soft with a crispy top and lightly sweetened taste. I wish I could talk more about the other treats, but I am unable to at this time. As for service my boyfriend said they were helpful and nice. They also spoke both English and Spanish and helped him find a concha since he had no idea what I was talking about LOL.If I'm ever in Detroit I'd definitely stop by to try their other treats since their concha was good.

We made an impromptu visit to Detroit's Mexicantown neighborhood on an unseasonably warm day. The bakery is across the street from Clark Park, has easy street parking, and had the most amazing selection of sweet treats. And then we saw the case of warm savory items, and our lunch plan was set - empanadas and treats in the park. The hardest thing was picking, and the Buttercream Yo Yo won. It was huge and flavorful and satisfying. The two empanadas I tried were equally good - one with chicken and one with ham and cheese. The prices were great and the service was friendly. Definitely recommend!

very bad experience the food tasted as if it was sitting all day, they had terrible customer service, they greeted you but once greeted you are forgotten, they will not follow instructions when you're very much explaining in detail, they botched my cake and the girl unapologetically said "I messed up the lettering and it was too late so here you go" would never come here again if you want an authentic Mexican experience go anywhere else in Southwest Detroit that is not as gentrified as this place, they don't even have the right name for some things and just make up a word for it. The environment is way too packed for such a small place, when you are walking around you can feel the floor literally bending under your feet it, they wrongfully charge for orders and it's way too overpriced for such mistakes to be happening.

Employees wrote it wrong but fixed it in the end, cake was good, service was fast. It was busy but the line moved fast. A tad bit high in price but the service was good. Store was busy but kept clean. Overall nice.
