They do not accept ANY cards We were riding our bicycles on Hines Drive, with Hines drive being closed for bicycle riders all summer (every Saturday) After our ride we went for breakfast here at Menka's Food was good and the service too. The place was busy and clean. They have lunch and dinner options. I liked my veggie omelette and my kid liked his french toast too.

A great little diner with solid food and great service. An excellent spot for breakfast or lunch. No frills, but that's not important for a place like this.

Did a search on my Yelp app looking for highly rated places relatively close by on my drive from DTW to EL, and Menka's kept popping up so I finally took the time to head over since I was craving a good hearty breakfast - and so glad I did, this place may seem like an ordinary cafe you drive by all the time but some things they do here are extraordinary. I took a seat at the counter, was promptly greeted and asked if I wanted coffee - yes - and got a cup of hot joe immediately. Went through the menu as she came back and I asked her for the top sellers. She named a few but said the Country Omelet is the way to go for breakfast - especially if I'm hungry. Oh yeah - I'm starving and the pics look really appetizing so let's go for it. I noticed there are a lot of repeat and local customers here, they know each other well and pop in for to-go orders. Service here is friendly and straight-forward. My Country Omelet came out in timely fashion, and it was massive, hot, and damn good. Inside the omelet is a crispy hash brown - which was fresh and stayed crispy and wasn't soggy which I love. That sausage gravy was really good, very robust and full of flavor, I could order it as a soup. The quality of the food was very good, it wasn't greasy and everything was just cooked to perfection. It was honestly one of the best omelets I've ever had - hands down. Good portion, well priced, solid quality, very flavorful and robust. Menka's surprised me, and I definitely need to go back for more. You can consider me a regular when I get back into town.

Good quality food at a good price. We love Menkas especially for breakfast. The American fries are the best.

Drove by this restaurant often. Decided to stop one day. Doesn't look like much. But the food! Outstanding! Breakfasts are especially great. Staff is friendly. If you go more than once expect to be called by name.It is a CASH ONLY establishment so go prepared.

Best family restaurant around! Service was great and the food was delicious! Was only in town for a concert and found the great reviews on yelp so we gave it a try and it didn't disappoint!

Little diner with outdated dining area but to be honest I like the feel of it !! Our waitress wasn't the friendliest BUT the food was WONDERFUL !!! They only take cash and are closed a couple days a week (I think Mon-Tues but not 100% positive .. definitely will go again :)

Menka's is incredible. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk in your are brought back to the 50's. It's a pristine diner with incredibly friendly people. I asked for a plethora of eggs, and that's what I received. Once I received it, it was amazing. My girlfriend also was impressed with her food. Overall anytime I'm back visiting family we will come here for all of our breakfast needs!

My daughter and I came upon this little gem of a place on our way to see a movie this morning. The service and employees were great. They greated us like we were old friends. The food was good. We both had a basic breakfast, which was delivered to uuus fresh, fast, and hot. We didn't have a lot of time before our movie started, but I was really interested in something I saw on the menu. It was a grilled cinnamon roll. The waitress said it was really good, so we ordered it. It was, just as she said, really good. They operate this restaurant with a great deal of honor and integrity. They don't take credit cards, so bring some cash. This is going down as one of my favorite places. I can't wait to go again when I have more time too look over their menu. Enjoy!
