In the Lower Huron Metropark area and hungry for lunch, I considered my options in New Boston, and picked McNasty's Saloon pretty much just because of the name. Arriving at the establishment, I felt kind of like a trailer-park girl, `cause I kept walking round the outside, round the outside, trying to find my way in: the front door with the green carpet and leprechaun awning was locked, while other doors were marked private. Eventually I figured out the un-assuming and un-labelled door under the porch at the back was actually the entrance. Inside, I found a half-dozen locals (which is always a good sign at 12:45pm on a random Monday) served by two employees. Catching the eye of one of the staff when he went to take a hit on his vape, I asked if I could grab a table for lunch. "Sit anywhere, bro" was his relaxed response.Tiffany, the waitress and bartender, introduced herself and gave me a menu shortly after I selected a table near the (locked) front door. While the menu had a lot of options, the details were hard to read due to the combination of saloon lighting, small print, and middle-aged eyes. However, easy to read on the menu were the warnings: just one soda refill! Additional charge on to-go orders! Specials to go get an extra extra charge! Eventually I ordered an Almost World Famous 1/2 lb McNasty burger with pepper jack cheese (+50¢ upcharge), onion rings ($1.99 upcharge) and a soda. After ordering, I asked Tiffany where the restroom was located, and went to wash up before my food arrived. The men's room was about as disheveled as one might expect at a bar. Tellingly, the trashcan was 'already' full at 12:55pm. 'Nuff said. All things considered, the food came out pretty quickly. The onion rings were piping hot, the lettuce and onion on the burger were crisp, and the beef patty was as thick as advertised. To her credit, Tiffany checked on me several times, and brought me my one free soda refill (I was sure to remind myself to drink slowly, lest I have to pay the extra drink upcharge). With tax, my bill was just over $15, which felt pretty typical. Since she did a great job, I gave my waitress a 32% tip.PROS: decent food at a decent price, attentive waitressCONS: getting inside was not straightforward, restroom was below average, menu was a minefield of upchargesOverall I found McNasty's Saloon to be Good, and would return.

I wanted to give higher stars but the cook, was cooking food with no gloves and I wasn't sure if he washed his hands. Food was okay average bar food. The service was nice the waitress was new but super helpful. It was overall an okay experience.

Was visiting from wayyyyyy far away (Pennsylvania and Australia!), but got an Airbnb place that was on a small town-ish area. Sent us to McNasty's saying they had good burgers. Looked like a bar's bar so we weren't terribly interested, but we were hungry and it was late...it was a bar's bar...dimly lit, a TV, a jukebox, paper flags for a bear strung over the bar, etc. Nothing Irish we could find, either.BUTThe burger was un-f'ing-believable! Like my Dad used to make on the grill when he got them right. Juicy, thick, excellent toppings. Fantastic waitstaff. Go. Lick your lips. Clean the juice on your wrist. Savor every bite.

I guess I was hoping that this small town (New Boston) dive was going to be great. I mean with a name like McNasty's you have to have something good going on. Instead I found that it was just O.K. To start our lunch we ordered Cokes. (I know.. why do you go to a bar and order a Coke.) Oddly, the straws were about an inch too short for the plastic cup that the drink was served in. Next on the menu, fried pickles. I may be strange, but I can't pass a fried pickle without tasting it. Wow... these were terrible, definitely the worst that I've had. If I didn't know better, I would think that these fried pickles were sold frozen and in bulk. The pickles were small, the breading was way too thick, and actually hurt your mouth when you bit into them.... more like breaded pork chops, not batter dipped as they should be. The had very little taste and were disappointing. Next up was the "Almost Famous 1/2 lb. McNasty burger". I ordered mine with pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and then proceeded to add ketchup (the ketchup... I don't know what they did to it, but it definitely lived up to the "McNasty" name) and mustard. This was an excellent serving of meat, tender, juicy, but it had very little flavor. Salt and pepper, people!!! I ordered onion rings while my wife ordered fries. The fries were just plain bland and looked like my skin after a long winter...plain white (not golden brown like they should be). I like my burgers a bit undercooked, but not my fries. The onion rings were good, but once again tasted like the kitchen lost their salt and pepper shakers. I was hoping this place was going to be good. It's a beautiful old bar with lots of dark wood, pool tables, and a wonderful ambiance. I just wish they would put a little more time in making their food as special as the building .I'm going to give this 3 stars, but that is more for average than anything else.

None of my fellow Chicago Yelpers will probably ever step foot in this place, but I'm going to Yelp it up anyway.McNasty's is a classic hometown bar. It's like something out of a Springsteen song, complete with drunk factory workers and teenage mothers. Like I've said before, I don't come from a very sophisticated place. So what makes this place great? Well, for starters, there isn't a drink you can order that costs more than $5. Second, an most important is the "World Famous McNasty Burger" It's a $4 hand-patted 1/2 pound burger. They serve it with a condiment tray that includes all the pickles and pepperocinci one can stand. It's world class, among the best you can find in Michigan. Also near to my heart is the fact that I celebrated my 21st birthday here, many moons ago. And how do you celebrate your 21st here? With a Rocky Mountain Bear Fucker, that's how. What's that you ask? Well I'm not 100% sure, but start with the shot traditionally known as "The Three Wisemen" and heat it up in the microwave. Serve hot. To cap the night off, get thrown out for leaving your pants in the bathroom. That's a birthday people!

Love the burgers, Josh makes some good burgers on Tuesdays. Always cooked to perfection. Philly subs are pretty good as well. Not to mention the sweet potato French fries will go back one day.

My first time at this location was amazing. The atmosphere was nice laid back, I would recommend spinning the wheel so much fun and let's you try new drinks for the first time. I fell In love with a drink I never tried before and it's so much fun. The wheel is cheap I been to bars and paid over 10 for a shot, the wheel is only $4.50.Enough about the drinks let's talk about the food. The food was amazing compared to some of the places in the area. The Mcnasty burger was good, my wife is a picky eater but loved the food here. I would recommend this place for a nice chill back and relax atmosphere with some good drink and food.
