Great Mexican restaurant in downtown Ypsi. Came here on a Sunday evening. Zero wait when we arrived. Lots of seating...can't recall if there's bar seating though. Either way, specialty margarita menu and other drinks available. Great menu with options for everyone. They even offer $5 mimosas on Sunday. My husband and I got the mix & match tacos; cool idea for those of us who can't decide. Vegan and GF options!Parking is street and a small overflow lot across the way behind some businesses. Chips are super thin and crispy, and the salsa is neither ketchup-y nor overladen with cilantro. First stop after an 8 hour flight from Munich. We needed heat, fresh and flavor. Thankfully Maiz really hit the spot. Nice and easy crowd, with good service. We ordered way too much food but didn't care. We were so tired but Maiz was our oasis, refortified by tequila and tortillas, we were glad to be home.

Let me first start by saying how GREAT our server Justin was!!! He was personable, friendly, and engaging. He also helped answer a few questions we had about some of the menu items. The margaritas were delicious and the chips and salsa were on point. Nice colorful chips. The tacos, beans, all of the things were rather tasty. I'd definitely visit this place again. Also they have great happy hour options in case you just want to meet for a drink.
