Lunchtime was closed for most of 2020, but it is back open for lunch. Breakfast is not being served at this time. Before the pandemic, I went there several times for the breakfast meal, which was a good deal at $5 for scrambled eggs, two sides, and meat. The sandwiches and soups are pretty good and are made to order with fresh ingredients. If you join the email list, you will get regular emails with the daily menu. There are daily specials with different soups and sandwiches on rotation. My favorite is the African Peanut with Chicken Soup. I also enjoyed Motorcity Cheesesteak with pot roast, sautéed onion, provolone cheese & parmesan ranch sauce. This place is a good lunch option if you are in New Center One, the Fisher Building, or Cadillac Place.

I'm a fan of all things lunchtime until today. I mistakenly ordered the cream of broccoli soup without looking. Big mistake it's different and not in a good way. It's basically broccoli in mush with specs of cheese. It's no actual cream with this broccoli. I'm sad .

Oh my gosh, the thai chicken salad is to die for. In fact everything here is good. I started eating here about five years ago and although parking in the area is difficult, I'm always willing to pay for parking just to eat at Lunchtime. A couple of things to try other than the fabulous thai chicken salad include the summer gazpacheo, uncle paul's ruben (freshly sliced smoked turkey, cole slaw and swiss cheese with thousand island), and the Tony Saco sandwhich (Salami, ham, provolone, tomato slices, red onions, romaine lettuce and creamy caesar dressing).the only really sad things is that they close early, usually at 3:30pm.

I've been working at the New Center One for the last 3 weeks, and this is my go-to for lunch. They have relatively healthy options: salads, soups. They do have some other no-so-healthy things too, like pigs in a blanket in the AM, and tacos at lunch. They have a cooler full of drink options, and a few little tables off to the side. The people working at this place are also lovely. The place can get PACKED around 12:15-1:15... and still, the employees are kind and personable. Really like that about this place. I have been one other place to eat in NCO, but I have a hard time deviating from here since I like it so much.

Located on the 2nd floor of the New Center One Building, this little place makes a kickass sandwich! I had the "Fancy Cowboy" - roast beef with sautéed mushrooms, roasted red peppers, red onion and provolone on a fresh, delicious herbed focaccia. Had a Faygo pop and Better Made chips on the side, too - so what's not to love? If you're in this building, skip the crappy Asian café and other mediocre offerings and head here.

It's...okay, I guess. When your options are terrible Thai food, everything-tastes-the-same Chinese food, greasy pizza, and greasy hot dogs, a freshly made deli sandwich starts to seem pretty darn appetizing. This what they're banking on.A note though -- lunch here will cost you a bit more ($6-7) than lunch elsewhere in the building. It's the fancy decor, I'm sure.I would not get the African Peanut soup. It's watery and punchless.Sandwiches and salads are pretty benign, nothing amazing. They have daily specials on random foods, like lasagna, and these are not bad, if overpriced.

Wow, what's happening to Lunchtime Detroit? They used to have some of the best soups around. Fresh, unique and appealing But now they serve the same soups day after day. After 2-3 days of reheating , the soups by that point have broken down are not tasty. Please regain the sense of pride you used to have when you put out some of the best food around.

The man who makes the sandwiches has a poor attitude. I order a sandwich and just because I wanted 2 extra condiments on it he started to have an attitude and made comments as I was paying. I won't be back. Learn how to treat people in a professional manner!
