Lum's Chop Suey

Has been a go to for years. Still has the best egg rolls hands down!!!! Everything I've gotten from there is great and the portions are huge. Definitely worth the money!

I'm 43 years old and have been going to lums since I was 10. The almond chicken Dinner and the sweet & sour chicken dinner are my go to meals. I also get beef fried rice with both. Unlike many food spots these days, the prices here are very reasonable, especially with the amount of food you get in the dinners. Your take out boxes are always stapled shut on both sides! Huge portions of rice and the beef is always tender. The almond chicken is always crispy and cooked to perfection. I also appreciate the real egg rolls (not spring rolls like most places) They also have the sweet orange sauce for the almond chicken, which I prefer over the dark brown from most places. I also recommend the crab Rangoon, egg drop soup and just about everything on the menu. I have never had a bad meal or a complaint here after all these years. Gary, his wife and family are all very nice and genuine people. One last thing I wanted to add, Lums is carry out only. Support this South Heights / Downriver Staple.

Could have very well been a solid four stars here...the general tsos chicken and sweet and sour chicken were great and enormous portions! However the fried rice was a bit overcooked, but the real problem was the disappointing lo mein - an order of beef and pork both were overwhelming portions but were a rather odd combination of two pasta that wasn't the usual lo mein ... It was more of a thicker glass noodle and ren noodle? Just odd. Daughters were very much not fond of it. I also ordered a pint of wonton soup which was just different than what I'm used to - had mushrooms, celery, onions, green onions and I think it was flat green beans with two won tons. Disappointing for sure.Pros? Great portions for the price and if you stick with what is known to be good, it's going to be good (I know almond chicken is supposed to be good too).Cons? Going with food options not known to be good. or not.

Been ordering from here for years. Excellent food always and lady who brings food out is beyond my expectations! Don't think they have dine in since the pandemic but we'll worth it.

I am going to keep this short trash food the shrimp fried rice is a mess of dark greasy rice with hard little shrimp almond chicken looks good but dry and to hard to eat

We eat here all the time - It's quick, delicious and priced excellent for the amount you get! Highly recommend the sesame chicken it's my personal favorite~~Mama T.

Always get a great amount of food. Fast service and great tasting This is our Christmas Day dinner. Usually have the whole family over. We have been going here since they opened up. Small but mighty place. Highly recommend. We have tried others but always come back for the best

Egg rolls and egg drop soup for the win! And maybe some sweet and sour chicken with a side of almond sauce They bring the food out to your car when you arrive. Easy peasy.

Foods okay, but this was the second time the person who answered the phone messed up the order. Both times, the same exact thing. CHECK YOUR ORDER... They just don't listen when you order. I repeated the item they messed up on like 7 different times, frustrating. They offered me to drive back and get it correctly, but... Probably won't be driving back at all.
