Lucas Coney Island

We were looking for someplace nearby on our way home from the Michigan Animal Rescue League, and came across Lucas. First impression: very popular, particularly with people from nearby businesses - always a good recommendation. The menu was what you might expect from a local Coney, plus a bit more: soups, a good selection of salads, burgers, a "south of the border" section, a large number of different sandwiches, and - of course - coneys. Both the co-diner and I got the same thing: a half-and-half, which consisted of a cup of soup and a half sandwich (we got the turkey Reuben). Soup was hearty and good, and the turkey Reuben seemed to use real turkey. Our server was friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable, and the quantity was quite sufficient. Recommended for a lunch stop if you are in the area.

Breakfast was really really good. Coffee is good. Service is really good. Greek chicken salad was ok. Coney dog just ok.

Food is always delicious Service has always been spot on for the year I've gone here to eat.Restaurant is always clean and seating is comfortable.Owners are often present attending to workers and or customers.

Lucas's has pretty good food, same as any other Coney Island. Nothing super spectacular or exciting, I do appreciate that the place is always clean and the service is good.

Everything I expect from a Coney Island style restaurant. Simple menu, fast service and a short or no wait to be seated. My last visit I had the blue bacon burger with fries and everything was good with fast service.

Casi cada Domingo que salimos a la predicación pasamos a este lugar antes de ir a nuestra reunión que es ala 1pm. Nos gusta este lugar por que no es muy caro y la cómida siempre está rica y sirven la comida en un tiempo muy considerable. Siempre que vamos ahí mucha gente en el restaurante pero aún así te sientan conforme vas llegando y la comida sale a tiempo.

Food is above average. Service is above average. Portions are decent. But at times, the atmosphere is off. Can't really offer more than that, just how I feel.....but stress from ownership/management Carrie's over to service. Dude in the corner (owner? Family?) grunting at waitresses is enough to discourage most people, unless you work close and realize it's constantly good food.

I went here for breakfast because I saw the rating was good. The service was awkward. I felt like I wasn't welcome and they were just going through the motions with me. As few words as possible. The menu was hard to read. I came during breakfast but it wasn't clear if the whole menu was available at that time of day or they were just serving breakfast. I could have just asked but they were so quick and to the point and I didn't think to until the waitress was gone. I would understand if the place was busy but there was hardly anyone there. A different lady took my food order than who took my drink order. She was very nice but was also awkwardly quick and to the point. I ordered the Gyro Breakfast and what I got was different than what I was expecting. The food was food. Nothing special but not bad. Just boring but I don't think this place is trying to be a gourmet restaurant. The place feels like it's a gourmet restaurant but once I was there it was clearly just another run of the mill Greek Coney Island. Finally I have to talk about the smell. A strong burnt plastic smell. I think they have gone smell blind. I won't be back because I felt like I overpaid. This place presents itself like it's a much better place than it is.

Eat breakfast all the time here, let veg it..good company and friendly faces... Try it you ll like it

Great food at reasonable prices. The service is also very good. The ambiance isn't the best but the food and service makes up for it.
