This is by far the best spot to get a Ruben. Everyone local to this area knows this. Everyone loves their hearty portions and delicious sandwiches. Be prepared to wait for your order and to pay for what you get. It can be a bit on the pricey side but once you go once you'll understand why. Definitely recommend everyone checking it out!

There is simply not one bad thing on this entire menu. Fabulous soups - especially the Navy bean & ham, which makes sense, I guess. It IS the best ham house in the world.Great omelets, great sandwiches, great service. We often stop in when heading to or from Eastern Market, but also drop by during the week for breakfast or lunch when we can. Our favorite is the half sandwich + soup. Can't go wrong here. Professional staff all around, too.

Ordered the pastrami omelet with swiss cheese hash Browns wheat toast. It was okay, the hashbrowns came out the winner. The wheat toast is pleather...psst..not real wheat. The omelet needed more cheese. I asked for swiss. They skimmed on the cheese. The pastrami was a tad salty. If they would fix what I complained about I would of gave them a 5 star. After eating the meat my mouth needs water...umm yeah way to salty. Smh. I paid over $17...bucks for 2 omelette breakfast.

The best Ham sandwiches, and split pea soup anywhere. And the portions are generous too. They are very particular on the ham they buy. It shows, because I've never had any better, anywhere. Friendly staff too.

I was on my way home and Whitey Castele's wuz callin' my name - you know, the Porcelain Room. As I slipped up the off-ramp, I remembered there was another restaurant in the area I wanted to try. A little driving around and I found it just a few yards away - LOUIE'S!!I walked in and I wasn't real sure this was related to the other area Louie's I visited. Not until I saw the menu - bang - there it was, the familiar Louie's menu that I am so used to seeing.This location is a bit smaller than the others, but then it's probably a bit older than all the others, too. They have carryout service, counter service and a counter at the window, so you can look outside as you eat. Oh yeah, and booths / tables for traditional seating.Don't bring a crowd, because they seriously can't seat many people here. But do bring your appetite along, 'cause you're gonna wanna feed it.

DELICIOUS!I just recently noticed this location as I have been to the Eastern Mkt location several times. This is my spot for breakfast on the weekends when I'm not at brunch with friends. They are carryout only. Food is cooked well and if you order before you go, it's ready when you get there. I made a mistake and ordered salmon instead if catfish and it was the beat surprise. I thought oh that was a good idea!!! Thank you Louie's

I went there with my co-worker for lunch last week. We ordered food and fountain soda drinks (Coca Cola). The food was good. The waitress would come around and would ask us if we need a re-fill of coca cola. We would yes. After our meal and drinks, we recived our bill and it was over 40.00 dollars for lunch. When I looked at the bill, I noticed that we were charged for re-fills of coca cola 5 times at 3.29 a refill. When I asked the waitress, why didn't you tell us that re-fills aren't free, she replied "you didn't ask". Long story short, I'll never go back. This place is a overpriced restaurant in Eastern Market area. Zeff's coney island in Eastern Market doesn't charge for re-fills. Therefore, if anyone goes there to eat, don't get re-fills on Soda.

Pricey for what you get. Ordered a stacked ham and got 3 small slices on an onion roll for 8.95.Service was lovely though.

I order a steak breakfast med rare and I got some burnt liver I have been having problems with there food lately I think I'm over it now no more try's

Best breakfast I have had in a long time! Eggs were perfect so was the sausage and hash browns!
