New restaurant experience for me & it was great. Greeted by employees upon entry as new food was being swapped in the service area. The service area was stainless steel & very very clean gotta love that. The turkey legs here fall off the muthafucking bone. My homie got the creole turkey leg with red beans & rice & a side of catfish. I got the soul leg with dressing and macaroni. After we paid it was no one to help us as it comes to seating but someone came very quickly as we took our seats and they assisted quickly with take home goods and bowls. All of the above were great only knock would be that the dressing had a lil too much salt BUT the meal was 4/5. If you're in the area don't miss this gem .

Newly remodeled and added a bar! That great comfort food we know and love now has new ambiance. Not quite a buffet but more cafeteria style on the front with a nice sit down dining room and bar inside. All your soul food favorites with the traditional sides and don't forget to wash it down with freshly made koolaid. On Wednesdays there are tons of food specials on nearly half the menu all day long. The Turkey legs are popular but my fave is the Turkey chop bowl on a bed of mashed potatoes topped with onions and mushrooms then smothered in gravy!

Conveniently nestled on Northwestern Highway in Southfield, Lilly Mae's offers a welcoming ambiance and Southern cuisine. Despite ongoing renovations to the building's exterior, the interior maintains a cozy and inviting atmosphere with ample seating. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our first-time visit was made seamless by the hostess's clear explanations of the buffet-style dining experience. The glass-enclosed display cases showcasing the food ensured both visibility and hygiene, a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. The buffet offered a diverse selection of Southern comfort food that looked and smelled enticing. While the turkey leg was the standout dish, with its tender, well-seasoned meat, the macaroni and cheese fell short of expectations. My husband's meal was also enjoyable, although the missing gravy slightly detracted from the flavor.Considering the quality of the food and the friendly service, it offers a solid value for its prices. We were satisfied with our meal and look forward to returning to explore more of the menu, perhaps even indulging in a dessert next tim

So I initially was confused about the concept of this restaurant. It's not a buffet as I thought. You come in and you're seated at a table by the hostess. They give you a menu and you choose what you'd like, then you go up to the counter to place your order and pay. It's cafeteria style, but make sure you know what you want before you get in line so you don't hold up the line. The lady was help from answering questions about the menu though. They give a cup and you get your drink from the fountain. They have a lot of options but I ended up getting the catfish and grits which was good. My catfish was well seasoned and fried to perfection. The grits were good, I just needed to add some salt for taste. I added some shrimp which was seasoned very well. I overall enjoyed my meal. They have a $15 Turkey leg deal on Wednesdays if you want to save some coins. I want to come back and try that. Service at the counter was good but non existent at my table. I had to go to the counter to get napkins and a straw but it didn't ruin my experience. I'll be back.

Chops and yams were great. The rice was a little dry even with the gravy on them, now the collard were not good at all, they had like the weirdest bitter taste that even with pepper sauce, hot sauce and pepper they just weren't good!! Service fine and it's just a basic soul food restaurant.

I have been seeing this on IG and needed to try it out. I was a little overwhelmed trying to figure out what I wanted to try because it all looked so good. The catfish etouffee over rice was delicious! So much flavor! Also tried the turkey leg, pork chop, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. All were so good. It was our first time but it definitely won't be our last. The staff were all friendly and kind.

Walked In the door to find a pretty empty Resteraunt. The sign said to wait to be seated. We waited Patiently with barely an acknowledgement. We finally just left and found another spot to dine at. It's unfortunate, I was excited to try this place but not when there is poor customer service

Lillie Mae's is an awesome experience it sits in a strip mall but it's very big on the inside. Upon entering you have to wait to be seated. The hostess was amazing pleasant. She greeted us and asked us have we been there before. We said no and she took her time to explain how things go. This is buffet style although you can't make your own plate everything is down you just pick out what you want and they'll plate it. You get to the end of the line and you pay before go back to your table. Now to the good part the food I'm pescatarian and most soul food places cook all their sides in meat...... well let me tell you at Lillie Mae's they don't. I was in heaven Although the catfish was cooked too long for my liking it was seasoned well. They veggies was cooked to perfection. The only downside to this experience is that the catfish was cold because it's cooked before hand. My sister ordered the stuffed turkey leg which was hot because they have it wrapped in foil and sitting in the broth.
