Got to love good Chinese take out. Better than most in the area. Dinner portions are huge! Next time we will split one order. Lol The Rangoon's were spot on. Crunchy and hot. Curious to try more. Will be back.

Food is always solid. Food is always F'ing late. IDK why I Always HAVE TO WAIT no matter how much time I give them. I ordered at 12 for a 3:15 pickup. I told him I'd rather it be ready 5-10 minutes early rather than late. I arrive at 3:20. STILL NOT READY. I was there for about 12 minutes before my order was done. WTF is the problem?

I currently live in a small, northern Michigan town, but came "downstate" to visit a friend. We decided to get take out Chinese and BOY am I glad we chose Leong's 23! I've relegated myself to mediocre restaurant food for the past twenty years since I left the Detroit area. My taste memory was awakened by Leong's! I had Almond Chicken and my friend had Beef Chop Suey. They ROCK at their gravy and didn't skimp on the portions! Tender chicken breast meat hand dipped in tempura batter for a light crunch, atop a bed of fresh lettuce sprinkled with sliced almonds, the almond chicken was reminiscent of a time when quality mattered. The beef chop suey? Again, I didn't have to hunt for the meat, which was a welcome change. We decided to each take half each others' meals because they were so good! Plenty of green peppers and bean sprouts too! Both meats were tender and tasted FRESH!Finally, the fried rice actually had some egg, green onion and sprouts. Nice! The service was friendly and QUICK; less than ten minutes total wait time!I wish I lived closer, but my memory of Leong's will last a lifetime!NOTE: currently they are carry out only. I prefer that anyway!

I've been coming to Leong's 23 for a long time and in the last year or so the quality of service has drastically changed. I understand that there was a change in ownership but whatever happened in the time between and the new (old) owner coming back hasn't fixed the problem. Due to COVID19, they are only doing carry-out. Their carry-out is a booming business but lately they have been incredibly slow and forgetful on the orders going out to customers. We placed our order for a drum of wonton soup, a small drum of chicken noodle soup minus the chicken, extra crunchy noodles, two egg rolls and chicken lo-mein (hot and spicy). Time frame given for pickup was 30 minutes, so knowing the last time I went I had to wait an extra 30 minutes I went late. I still waited an extra 30 minutes for my food. While I was waiting, one guy had been standing their for almost a hour and his food still hadn't been brought out. He was there after I left. Some of the orders that were brought out were missing meals. I'm not sure what is going on but Leong's 23 needs some serious overhaul.I have asked for hot and spicy with every meal I have ever eaten from there. Today was the first time that my food came hot and spicy. Normally, its just hotter like food temperature not from spice.

I went to this place because my baileys restaurant was closed, disappointed to say the least. The chicken was disgusting and soggy the rice was meh and the fortune cookie was the worst cookie I ever tried. While I was waiting for the food the cooks kept laughing historically in the back. Only positive was the hostess was super nice! Went in at 8:40 pm 1/18/24

Ordered General Tao's Chicken super spicy. It was super dry, no spice at all. Confirmed twice that it was ordered super spicy. Very disappointed. The meal consisted of dry bland chicken (no sauce for the rice), one onion, 2 pieces broccoli and 2 pieces of green pepper. Walmart General Tao is even better than Leongs.

Been eating at Leongs along time. Food changed since new owners. Egg rolls have only bean Sprouts in it,used to have tiny shrimps and small chuncks of meat in them. The wanton was good. An the main dish was good. Almond cookies had no flavor in them.

We've tried quite a few Chinese restaurants in our area that were mediocre. We weren't expecting much the first time we ordered from Leong's 23, but to our surprise, the quality, flavor, and freshness of our vegetable soup, wonton soup, crab rangoons, chicken fried rice, General Tao's chicken, shrimp and lobster sauce were outstanding. Service was great, too! They're our permanent go-to Chinese restaurant. The best!
