Tempted to give this place one star to deter people from going.. but honestly, this is the best Mexican food I've had in Michigan. The flavors are so good and the facility is always so well taken care of and clean. The staff is quick and the prices are fair. My only complaint is the popularity of this location - if you don't utilize their online wait system, you can easily be placed on a two hour waiting list that seemingly never goes down. We never come to this spot without first checking in online!

The Mexican food is the real deal. I ordered the the taco dinner, the carnitas pork was tender, juice and delicious , this place does not disappoint!! It's definitely on my list with the best in the metro Detroit area (Tienda Mexicana, La Botana). I had the regular house margarita and it was nothing special. The mojito was awesome and exactly how It should be! They have an extensive tequila menu which I appreciate, some of the tequila prices are marked up like a high end restaurant. The wait staff was good and well attentive even though this restaurant was very busy. The bad: the entire check in process / wait time to get a table. Thanks to social media, this place is extremely busy. I drove there checked into the wait list, left and came back ! I did not receive a text message from the online system when it was my time to get a table, so I had to be placed on a shorter wait list which also added an additional 30 mins of wait time, basically it took about 2 hrs form check-in until I was seated at a table. The parking lot is also crazy busy due to the popularity of this place.

YAS YAS YAS YAS. If you are looking for a place to drink some margaritas with some friends. THIS IS THE PLACE. The food is good. Fairly priced. The service was absolutely wonderful. I felt like I had a chance to really escape my busy life and enjoy a hot and good meal I could not make at home and drink tequila that warmed my soul. I will definitely be back. Just a side note, put yourself on the waiting list on the busy times ahead of time. I did that as I left my house and I was seated by the time I got close to the restaurant.

Best authentic Mexican food I've found in my area and we love coming here for lunch. Sometimes you need to wait but it's never too long, even though they always stay packed. The decor is a little much but I also love it, there's so much to look at. I also love that the vibe is just relaxed and chill, people just there to eat good food in good company. Their margs are so good (Skinny Raspberry and Coconut Lime yummmm) and there are so many flavors. We always get queso bc it's delicious and just the right spice. The Birria Tacos we get every time, they have so much flavor and are just simple good. The flautas are my other favorite to order. You really can't go wrong, everything is good good good.

Las Palapas was top tier Mexican for a super reasonable cost - no wonder why they have a line out the door. We waited about an hour on a Thursday night so I imagine weekends are even busier, check in on the app before you leave home. We got served chips and salsa right away which were super fresh! For entrees, we got a burrito (which was massive) and a combo plate with a taco, quesadilla and enchilada. I loved the variety with the combo platter and everything was very good. You certainly have to plan visits given the popularity, but I cannot wait to go back.

Visited around the holiday on a Thursday night and I can't wait to come back! Be sure to put yourself on the wait list, the wait is often 90 minutes. We had a FULL table of food and there were no misses! Most of us ordered the Tacos Mexicanos, the chorizo was my favorite and the queso was delicious. Drinks were strong and had me feeling fuzzy and buzzy. Large portions for an excellent price

Conveniently located in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Plymouth Road and Farmington in Livonia is some of the best Mexican food in metro Detroit! There is a plenty of parking in a lot out front. There is dining room or bar seating and they have take out. Festively decorated and you can feel the vibe as soon as you walk thru the door. The bartenders and waitstaff has great and is always serving with a smile. All the Mexican classics - tacos, burritos, enchiladas. Las Palapas has them! Daily happy hour and lunch specials every Mon - Fri. My fave is the taco salad. And chips and fresh salsa with every meal. They have one of the biggest tequila selections in Michigan and the margaritas are to die for. You can even get them to go. If you live or work in the Livonia area and you like Mexican food you must try Las Palapas!

Ordered the Baha Burrito and it was great and super filling, the chips and salsa were so good only thing Is , I wish the salsa had some more spice to it but that's my personal opinion. Service was good, server was attentive. Restrooms and building as a whole was clean! Will definitely be back to this place when I'm in the area.

Get the avocado tacos! They are sooo good and they have the best margaritas. Open late and they bring a hefty serving of chips and salsa when you are seated . Wait times can be very long on the weekends especially Sundays after church but you can also join the waitlist online .

Came with a large group for lunch today and was blown away by our experience.Our server was outstanding and made great lunch recommendations. Our drinks were always full and the chips and salsa were flowing! I ordered the lunch grande burrito with steak and will have enough leftover for lunch the next 2 days.
