Let's start with this was a Birthday dinner for my daughter 12 ppl. There were ppl sitting at tables like a normal restaurant eating, which was totally fine. That did not interfere with us 1 bit. After all my guest arrived the staff moved all the other customers in a particular section that left only us in the floor. It was no reason to move the other customers. They actually moved customers already eating. The server had a nasty attitude from the start. The food was beyond horrible. 4 ppl were sick I being one I vomited on the way home the other 3 had the same symptoms coupled with diarrhea. We were very respectful of the restaurant and everyone in it, we pride ourselves on our appearance in public. We were very polite. They are not welcoming of African Americans which we are. I put on Google Translate and they were discussing us in Spanish which was totally inappropriate. I believe something was done to our food which caused us to be very sick. It can't be a coincidence. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN!!!

CLASSIC MEXICAN MEALS YUMSuper Seafood Mexican and SoupsOh yea this place rocks with the jumbo $1.25 street style tacos loaded with cilantro and onions on 2 corn tortillas. Those beef,chicken, chorizo and marinaded pork taco's are truly some of the best I've ever eaten. The giant Mexican sandwich called a Torta with steak topped with cheese and other goodies will just melt in your mouth. The Queso Flambo is Chorizo topped with melted cheese YUM. Super house made salsa and steamy hot chips come to you table as you take a seat. The fast friendly service with a smile is great, note they speak just a little English that's OK I always get what I want. Overall the place is super having a large selection of seafood and live Mariachi bands every Sunday a wee bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. So head on don to Southwest Detroit home of the best Mexican foods to found anywhere

I had the MOST amazing meal at LaTerraza. The food and beverages were out of this world. Our shrimp and octopus cocktail was delicious and overflowing with seafood. The ceviche was perfectly seasoned with whole shrimp. I left a very clean plate after powering through the amazing tacos, but thankfully left room for dessert--silky flan and churros that I'll be dreaming about. Horchata (rice water) was a lovely companion to the food until I sampled the watermelon margarita--WOW. The service was gracious. I had the pleasure of meeting the chef/owner and his wife. He is welcoming and incredibly talented. She is warm and charming. And, they have live music on the weekends. I will definitely be back. Gracias.

Today's Review of the Day for Detroit featured this restaurant.On a Sunday afternoon, I arrived and parked in their attended parking lot. We walked in at 1pm, and by quarter after, there was a line waiting the be seated. That was resolved quickly, as they were actually a group waiting for a large seating to be readied.Miri was our waitress this afternoon. She was pleasant and stopped by many times to check on things. She took drink orders and returned with chips and salsa. The chips were fresh ( I think they utilize the latest in chip technology - if you look closely, there is an expiration date next to the little bar code on the corner of each chip ;-) . The salsa was very good, as well.When the drinks arrived, we were ready to order. I sure wish this had been a Chinese restaurant, because then I could have asked for a #8 dinner. But instead, I simply pointed to one of the shrimp dinners listed (calling out spicy in the description). When it arrived, I knew it was going to be good, and it was. I didn't have time to snap a picture and post it - as a member of the Clean Plate Club, I had work to do - maybe next time.The entertainment was an Hispanic singer who sung nothing but Spanish songs. Every once in a while, I would hear accordion music starting to play, and once there was even a tuba - so naturally, I expected a nice German polka to break out when the Oom-Pa-Pa band started playing. Alas, after hearing him sing about his broken heart and tears, I should have realized he didn't know any German songs. How good was his singing? He got a couple women to get up from the table and dance. Was it as loud as others have written? Well, let's just say I was glad to be sitting at the back of the room. Yeah, they could turn it down a little. Still, the entertainment was lively and pleasing.Looking around the dining area, I saw many Hispanic families seated, as families. It was great to see the kids well-behaved, unlike many dining places these days where kids do not display any sense of manners or discipline. Most of the adults were dressed up in their Sunday best. Again, it was pleasing to see.The only drawback to the whole visit was when I had occasion to use the restroom. A leaking fresh water supply made for a wet floor. An experienced journeyman plumber could really make a difference in there, as I did not see evidence of such skills in the current layout. I cannot report on the women's restroom, because I was a little timid about going in there.What a great dining experience! I will return!

Poor customer service.... menu says one price the bill says another. They take the bill back to fix, then they fix it to add gratuity to the a party of 6. The food is good, but the waitress/owner need to be trained in customer service. The experience they gave me was not only upsetting but very frustrating for the nonsense of rebuttals received of reasoning why. You cannot up charge a drink that states $23.99, to expect your customers to ask while ordering what the correct price is for each item. So you might want to train your waitress to warn your customers *prices may vary. Also, you do not have anything written or customer rule a party of 8 or more is subject to gratuity; not a party of 6. Won't be back, best to just leave it alone. Ain't got the time to deal with ignorance

Went I. For a nice dinner except they have a band running their instruments to the point it hurts your ears and couldn't even place an order, managed to order drinks and an appetizer, but left it all $50 wasted and didn't even take a sip!Very rude of the band to be free styling drums and all not even playing anything, now I understand why the place was near empty Never again!

We went on a Friday night. (during a snow storm ). Of course, there was not a lot of people. The waitress was so kind and friendly. But what amazed me more was that the food looked exactly like their advertising photos. Posting a photo that I took of my actual dinner.

I ordered 6 food items for me and child to try and only got 2 items from my order I tried calling and the only person that spoke English said there was nothing they could do about it and hung up on me after I told her I placed a second order I had to call back and let her know how hurt I was she did that I wasn't trying to complain about it but please make sure all my food is in the bag this time please and she said ok I wanted to leave a review on the food but the instead I have to write about the customer service
