New owners but they use the same recipes and carry their own line of Mexican pastrys on top of the classics. Very affordable. Welcoming staff and owners.

You can't get more "local" than this little bakery from a bygone era when regular folks (like my mom and grandma) would walk to their local bakery for their bread. Buried in a war-torn neighborhood without a main street in sight, this little gem stays vital with support from salt-of-the-earth regulars and far-flung "old neighborhood" fans of yesteryear. The best Paczki in Detroit. (yeah, I said it HamSandwich!) If you bought your Paczki at Sam's club or Kroger, your loss!

Great little Eastern European bakery off the beaten path with good cheap food. They have been here for years, at least 22 that I know of serving the community seven days a week. Ignore the buzzer to get in, the staff is friendly and the baked good very good once you're thru the door. Try the potato or rye bread. Order a sheet cake with decorations. The donuts are consistently very good and the Paczki are as good as Hamtown's version for Fat Tuesday.

My grandfather always had a box of donuts from Supreme when we would visit in the 80's and 90's. I stopped in this morning and the donuts are still just as good. Go with the custard-filled Long John. I'll be back for the rye bread and to try the pepperoni rolls.

I remembered this place from when I was a kid. So on one of my frequent trips to Mi Pueblo, I did a quick drive-by, fully expecting this place to be boarded up and covered in graffiti. Wonder of wonders, it's still open! The place I remember as a kid was a polish bakery, with a large display case of chrusciki (angel wings). I think this place has probably changed owners, because the angel wings were nowhere to be found. That said, they had several types of bread and all sorts or sweets on the shelves and in the display case. I got a couple of loaves to take home, and they were awesome. You have to look for the place, but it's worth it. I'd rather give a few bucks to a local bakery than a chain any day.

Sadly this bakery has changed ownership ... The cake prices went up significantly but the cake quality is now terrible. The cake itself was tasteless and the icing was horrible. This is sad since my wife's family has used the bakery for over 40 years. I will never return!
