Best lasagna I've ever had. The bolognese sauce was delicious. Ino was a great bartender and very knowledgeable. Made for a great experience for this out-of-towner midwesterner.

Everything we tried here was amazing. The Limoncello wings were so damn good. Like, lick the plate good. The meatballs are great with the sauce and cheese. I had a seafood chili oil linguine special when I visited. I was so full from the appetizers and the salad and bread that I had to take most of it home, but it was delicious. Service was excellent. No reservations, so if you have to wait for a table, run over to Prime and Proper for a cocktail.

Came here for happy hour and dinner m. It's very cute inside, tiny but cozy. Our bartender was very friendly. He even gave us a free sample of espresso martini and was recommending great drinks for my partner. We started with happy hour beer and wine and the happy hour meatballs. The meatballs were some of the best I've had. The sauce was so good and I liked the ricotta on the side. They were pretty big, so we weren't hungry enough after to both get a full dish. We ended up splitting the tris di pasta which had ravioli, gnocchi, and bolognese. All three were delicious but the bolognese was my favorite. It was very fun to be able to try all three though! Definitely check this place out if you're looking for good Italian.

I called in to see if they accepted walk ins. They did, but they told me it was about a one hour wait, so I asked for take out. I ordered the lasagna bolognese, calamari with "spicy sauce" and a basic margarita pizza but asked if I could add mushrooms on it. They said sure.About 30-40 mins later, I walk over to pick up the food, and walked back to my hotel to start my feast. And honestly, color me disappointed. For those three things, it came out to $59.36 and for what I got, it should not be nearly $60. 1. The lasagna bolognese was nicely layered and had a great cheesiness to it. Bolognese is a meat sauce, but there wasn't a whole lot of meat?? Otherwise it was okay. 2. The calamari was severely disappointing. As an Asian, I've had my good collection of calamari tastings, and this one was just not it. The breading was thin and choppy, and the "spicy sauce" was a sort of Italian vinegar with pickled peppers kind of sauce. The sauce with the already somewhat soggy and thin breading made it uncomfortable to eat. Our entire party was severely disappointed by this underwhelming dish.3. We asked if we could add mushrooms on the margarita pizza and the one who took my order said yes. Come to find out, there was no mushroom in sight. It was actually replaced by pepperoni. My sister didn't want pepperoni, so it would've been better off if they just gave us the plain margarita pizza without mushrooms. The pizza itself was okay though. Would I go again? No. Was it a waste of my money? Yes absolutely. You shouldn't be charging so much if you can't even get the order right. I would give this a 2.5 but unfortunately yelp still hasn't implemented half star ratings yet so I'll just round it up to a 3.

Went here for lunch with a friend and we ordered the calamari and burrata as starters and I got the petto di pollo arrosto (chiecken breast) for my main order. All of the food was really good and I would definitely recommend it as a good lunch spot. It is on a pretty busy street in downtown, so parking may be a bit of challenge. Also, it definitely was busy, so I would recommend trying to get a reservation if you can.

I came here with my family before the Michael Jackson play - we just beat the night rush. This place gets packed fast! And for a good reason. They have delicious authentic food and a few twists in their menu (one being the limoncello wings). Cocktails were great, food tasted amazing and came in a timely manner. Service was good. Ambiance was buzzing! I would definitely try this cute this place on your next Detroit night. Highly recommend the meatballs to share and the Mele pizza!

La Lanterna offers up authentic Italian food in a sleek, cozy space in downtown Detroit. They get busy on the weekends, especially if there's an event nearby!Their pizzas and pastas are fantastic, and they also have a large list of Italian wines. I find the prices on the entrees and pizzas to be quite reasonable, though the wine list is on the high side. Still, all in all a good value. La Lanterna is always a go-to whenever I'm in Detroit!

Absolutely delicious!!! Happy hour is Tuesday thru Friday from 3pm-6pm. The happy hour menu is fabulous. I enjoyed the Margherita pizza. Their meatballs are amazing! I love the sauce, and it came with yummy burrata and a crostini. The fries were crispy and seasoned well with rosemary. The wine here is fantastic! I tried 3 red wines: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and El Primitivo. All were excellent. The Primitivo was my favorite and really special. For dessert, I thoroughly enjoyed the Frangelico cappuccino. Perfection!I received the most excellent service from John. He was so kind, took great care of my table, and made fantastic recommendations. He said he was new to working here so I wanted to make sure to shout him out. Thank you, John! The restaurant is located in the lovely Capitol Park neighborhood in downtown Detroit. My window seat had a lovely view of the park. This was a wonderful experience! I will definitely become a regular. I look forward to trying everything on the menu.

First time visiting this place. What a nice surprise. The food here is excellent. The pasta melts in your mouth. Everything we had was so authentic. The sauces were full of flavor, but heavy and sugary. The atmosphere is ok. It's not a fine dining type place, but the food is every bit as good as the best Italian restaurants. The service was OK. No complaints. You will like the value of La Lanterna too. Reasonable prices for exceptional food. I will be back.
