We randomly picked a place to eat and we're so glad we chose La Fonda!! The food was SO good and was super authentic, especially the salsa and queso. The Mexican tacos were fire and the burrito was huge. Service was good, I'm seeing a lot of complaints from other people but we had no issues at all, everyone was kind! The vibe in here is cute, perfect for a casual family dinner

Absolutely terrible. They only have one waitress so service is slow and the not even decent. The chips and salsa for dine in cost $3.50. I ordered a carry out and everything was messed up. I could not be more dissatisfied. I ordered flour tortillas I got inedible corn tortillas. I wouldn't recommend

The outside is welcoming but I rarely see any cars in the parking lot. I was craving Mexican so I thought to give this place a try. We were the only customers inside. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She brought our drinks and chips and salsa fast. She was cleaning between serving us. She sanitized menus and set them up to dry, which is a plus in my book. When our food arrived it looked awesome. Huge portions too. Unfortunately, it was rather bland but still worth the visit. I'd still go back but I'd try something other then the chimichanga next time. Give them a try.

Five stars all day long! I'm very excited that I found this place, can ya tell?I lived in CA for over 20 years so I've been privy to some awesome Mexican plates, also in Scottsdale, Sedona many parts of the Southwest including Albuquerque.I know a thing or two about Mexican food, and this place is legit.I ordered the standard 'cheese enchiladas' just to see what would happen. The red sauce was amazing and they were cheesy and decadent. A side of chopped tomato Pico was a nice touch, complete with cilantro!I knew right away the refried beans had lard, and my palate was doing a happy dance! I confirmed this with the server and she said 'that's why they taste so good, right''? And I immediately fell in love with this restaurant. My only complaint would be the complimentary salsa, not very spicy and akin to tomato sauce. If they offered that Pico which was on my plate there would be a line wrapped around the building.Located in far North Michigan, it was quite a pleasant surprise.

Very poor quality food and sub par service . Would not recommend this restaurant unless you enjoy heartburn and Mediocre style Mexican food.

In the last 6-7 years of visiting this place, i've only ever had one bad experience, and it was purely because of a lack of staff (outside their control). Some of the nicest staff I have ever met, matched with the food being AMAZING, every single time! 100% recommend this business!

Ordered the puffy tacos. Terrible shell and very little inside. The place itself could use a good cleaning. I will not go back.

Horrible service! Took 20 minutes just to get a margarita. Ordered tacos and guacamole dip. Never got food. Had to cancel our order. People who were coming in after us were getting their food before we did. Not acceptable.
