L George's Coney Island

The food was good, but it took long enough for us to get it. By the time we got the food I think it was an hour later we decided just to take it to go. And they were busy but, they just didn't handle it well. Parking is kind of tight here as well. Anyway I don't plan to go back here again for some time. My expectations are maybe a little bit High cuz people are telling me about how great it was but we really did not have a great time at all.

If you were a fan of "Seinfeld" and ever wanted to experience the "soup nazi", this is the place for you.For those unfamiliar with Detroit, Coney Island restaurants are as common as pasta in Italy. This one is rather sizable in terms of space. Breakfast is one of their most popular fares. Such was what we anticipated when we decided to check out our neighborhood local coney spot. But, boy, did we get more than we bargained for. So much more ... In fact, we got two bad breakfasts and a whopping plate of bad attitude.To begin with, at 9:00 a.m., there was only one other soul in the place having a meal. I'm mentioning this because if the place was busy, I might have been willing to cut them a break. Besides that person, two cooks, two waitstaff, me and Pimp. Soooo... I ordered a pancake special and he had the Paul Bunyan to go. We got our orders, but before we left I asked the server if they had sugar-free pancake syrup. The woman looked at me as if I asked her to tap a maple tree! She then poured me what amounted to a shot glass of the syrup. No big deal. I never use more than a teaspoon anyway. I took it. Said thank you, and she rolled her eyes. ROLLED HER EYES!Okay. Strike one.We get home and I opened my container with the pancakes. It looked as if I had a styrofoam trough, and they dumped everything in it as though I was a pig ready to slop! I ordered cheddar added to my scrambled eggs. See the picture of my eggs that had the cheese melted on my pancakes.. Pimp's Paul Bunyan was equally disappointing. Strike two.There won't be a strike three.This place sits in an isolated area that's rather hard to get into off the freeway (unless you're really trying to get there). I say that to say, we really made a conscious decision to visit this joint. Secondly, there are other choices that were closer and from which we've had better experiences. So much for trying something old in a new (or rather, different) place.Won't be back ...If I could give 1/2 of a star ...

Great customer service hot food amazing chicken club I recommend it to everyone whoever the cook is at this location is a gift from god from the perfectly toasted bread to the sweet tomato and the prefectly crispy bacon and the super fresh lettuce this sandwich is truly food made for the gods I will return bring your friends your family your kids you won't be disappointed best Coney Island location ever

Food was good. Very fresh and the service was amazing. Typical Coney Island menu, but we all know some are better than others. This one is top notch.

I'm so glad we have another late-night Coney option in Southfield! This place really satisfies. We ordered a western omlette and hashbrowns, wings, chilli cheese fries, and a grilled chicken pita. Everything was good, but the pita was exceptional. They also have the "good ranch," which is #1 in choosing a great coney if you ask me. The omelette lacked seasoning, but that was easily fixed, and I'd order the hashbrowns crispy; they were really soft. No complaints about anything else, they were fast, and we'll be back!

This place is quite the diner. I sat up on the stool side and watch 2-3 cooks going to town putting out some seriously good food. I always like to sit up near the flat top and watch the cooking. Always the good spot to learn new cooking tricks.This place is a diner, but not greasy. I had the Shawarma and it was probably the best pita I have had. It was packed full of flavorful chicken and veggies. The fries were fried just right with little grease leftover on the plate. The place was packed the whole time I was there. Great spot to go to.

This has been for long while since 2012, we came here twice after my oldest nieces revisal dance performancxs..... tt was alright except all tables needed to be replaced and improve by over place looked somewhat dirty not super tidy! foods and beverage is just ok-ok not the best!

I ordered a carry out and when I came home, the sandwich was made incorrectly. I asked for the chicken to be cut into smaller pieces and to add avocado to the wrap. I live 20 minutes away and didn't want to drive back for a replacement. I called and the employee said she would issue a refund. When I checked my credit card a few days later, she charged me twice for the same sandwich. The only difference was $1.00 (for the avocado charge). Instead of the refund, she charged me $1.00 less for the avocado. I called to let the restaurant know, thinking it was a mistake. The employee said she never did it and she can't do a refund period. After going back and forth, they made me drive back to the restaurant to get my refund. The employee on the phone was so rude and disrespectful. Never coming back again! With so many restaurants struggling during this time, you would think they would appreciate their good customers. I used to come in at least twice a week, but they obviously don't care.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed L George's Southfield location before now. This place is a seriously good value for the price! You won't find a less expensive sit down experience and their food is good. They serve a delicious gyro and their seasoned fries are delish. They also serve breakfast all day. Winner Winner, breakfast for dinner!

Experience was great and so was the staff. Would definitely recommend. Great for a coney or chili cheese fries.
