Knapps City Garage

I was pleasantly surprised by Knapps. I wasn't expecting much bc I've seen some not-great reviews. We've been here twice now. The first time was in the warmer months. We were there just for drinks with a couple of friends. We played Cornhole outside. Drinks were good, we didn't order anything fancy. Service was good. We enjoyed ourselves. This last time, my Husband and I stopped after church for lunch. We started with the cheese curds. They were fantastic and a large portion. I had the clam chowder. I'm picky with my chowder and I loved theirs. I also ordered a Buffalo shrimp appetizer that they had on special. This was tasty, but the breading was a bit soggy. I wasn't too hungry after the chowder, so I took the rest of the shrimp home. When I reheated it in the convection oven, it crisped up and was really good. The blue cheese dressing was VERY good! Our server was wonderful by the way!We will be back! We love New Baltimore and the downtown area has been getting better each year.

Knapp's City Garage ReviewHere are the reasons why I am rating this restaurant so poorly: 1. They messed up our order. I asked for a burger without onions on it, due to my friend being allergic, and it came with caramelized onions cooked right into it. Mistakes happen right? Well, read on.. 2. They made a mistake, but they did nothing to rectify it; and they'd rather see their customers starve than be satisfied patrons. Upon telling my server, Audrey, that the burger had onions on it -- she didn't offer a resolution (such as another burger, to take it off the bill, etc.), didn't even apologize, and ran away from the table and didn't come back for about 20 mins. 3. They charged us for the food my friend was allergic to. Once we received the bill, the burger was still listed on there. After pointing it out to Audrey, she said "there are no guarantees" that it can be removed. She then spoke with management and came back to the table, and told us that they wouldn't remove the burger from the bill. 4. They lied; When we spoke with the manager, he claimed that Audrey told him that my friend ate most of the burger, so he wouldn't be able to remove it from the bill. My friend showed it to him. To his dismay, Audrey clearly lied to him and placed blame on the customer. 5. The manager claimed to be "reusing" partially eaten food. The manager said that the only way he'd be able to remove the burger from the bill is if we gave it back to him. I wanted to feed it to my dog instead of wasting it. He claimed it wouldn't go to waste because he would "reuse" it. My friend countered, "you're going to reserve it to customers?" He stuttered suspiciously and denied it. 6. My friend left hungry. And while they finally removed the burger from the bill, we left angry and told him that we wouldn't be back...and we won't be.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was overpriced, bland, and the flavor that you could taste was mediocre at best. I will go a step further than just not recommending. To care so little about the satisfaction, the health and well-being of customers that have severe allergic reactions, and to refuse to honor orders...I would advise you not to go there. And after reading other reviews, it looks like we were not alone in being treated this way.

Stopped in for some drinks as I was waiting for my wife to get her cut. Very cool place with a large bar area so plenty of seats. I thought they had a good selection of beers which was nice. I ordered some steak bites and man those were really good. The bartender was super nice as well. The decor was pretty cool too.

Same sucky service . I don't know what happens every time I go there. I order simple things which was one pizza. Everyone that came in way after us got their food prior.

We came here for a birthday dinner and the food was decent for the price, but wasn't anything spectacular. It seems like high end bar food to me. The waitstaff also weren't super attentive. They forgot my appetizer and then remembered after the main meal was already served.

Loved it. Good pie, good atmosphere, friggin' LOUD. The have three areas, the bar (we sat there), a dining room (smallish and slightly quieter) and outdoors. Very much looking forward to investing the menu better.

Our first time coming to eat and we loved it! I had the chicken special of the day and it was delicious. My husband had the steak and it was sitting in zip sauce that was really good. Quick and friendly service. We will for sure be back!

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant ever since I heard they opened another location, with the exception of this location having an expanded menu, which their Richmond location does not. Our server was great & very helpful with suggesting what to order. We had the spinach salad & added shrimp to it, which the shrimp were HUGE! Great sized salad also. We also got their grilled chicken wrap sandwich with their house potato chips (which were fantastic!) & a cup of their homemade loaded potato soup, YUM. Definitely looking forward to going back & trying another delicious menu item.

It's better than Fin's across the street, but that isn't saying much.Apps:Steak bites - overcooked; doesn't matter how you order them, they'll be medium well, at best."Pork belly" burnt ends (burnt ends should be brisket) - way too salty, couldn't eat themSandwiches:Ruben - small for my taste, but otherwise goodBurgers - good burgers, but they're overcooked. Ordered medium rare the first time I went, it came back medium well. Ordered rare the second time I went, came back medium well. It's a good burger, but they're always overcooked.The City Garage Burger needs a sauce, a drizzle of BBQ sauce would be good. It's served dry as shit, with only ketchup and mustard available in the condiment cart, neither of which belong on that burger.Woodfired Pizza:Tried the "margarita pizza," wanted to add chicken, but "no substitutions." Would have been happy to pay the extra $2.50 to add chicken, wasn't allowed. Tried it anyway, but the pizza itself wasn't good. Didn't have any woodfired taste, no good char, crust was bland, lacked sauce.Haven't tried the square pizza yet, but I wish they would alter the topping prices for the large and the small. It's $1.50 per reg topping, $2.50 per premium topping, doesn't matter if its fora small or large pizza, but that means getting a few topping small, four piece pizza is going to run around $20. Seems steep, comparatively.Sides:White bean chicken chili - blandFries and house chips - need seasoning, bad. I wish they would take a trip to Tina's Country Kitchen, or to Cabana Blue to get an idea as to how to properly serve house chips.Cocktails - 10.0Best cocktails around, by far. Really good Old Fashioned, wish they had a cocktail menu, but don't be afraid to challenge the bartender, they know what they're doing.Waitstaff was not good the two times that I went and did not sit at the bar.

Service is everything!An owner should be professional and uphold the customer is always right rule. Poor communication or lies should not be rewarded with our hard earned money. Thanks Mary, I won't waste my time or money.
