Amazing!!! So glad we finally went! Made a reservation for my birthday on a Sunday early afternoon. Let me repeat that: RESERVATION. Make one! There was a line of people trying to get seated when we arrived (post church rush). We were seating immediately in the lodge. The restaurant is split into 2 sections; the lodge and the dining room. The lodge gives a more rustic cabin "sit by the open fire" feel. Such a great ambiance! They have gluten free menu!!! And educated staff to steer you in a safe dietary direction. I was sooooo happy to have so many choices for my birthday, even dessert! Highly recommend any of their specialty cocktails, the spin dip, and chocolate lava cake. We were so full off apps that we skipped right to dessert. Can't wait to come back and enjoy an entree!Parking lot is decent on the property but there's an overflow lot right across the street. Attire is casual. Yes, you can wear jeans here.

We came as a party of 8 the day before thanksgiving. Needless to say the place was jam packed at 6:30pm thankfully we had a reservation. The inside decor had the rustic cabin feel with a modern touch really well done. The service was excellent and attentive. I will say the main entrees took about 45-1hr but given how packed the place I would give them some grace on the time. After you order bread and butter comes to the table and maybe due to the wait they brought bread out twice which was nice. We did ask them to bring my kids spaghetti and meatballs as early as possible and they did. The portion was huge brought about half home, as a side they brought fries as they did not have fresh fruit. I ordered the jagersnitchel and it was amazing the red cabbage worked perfectly with the fried pork and mushroom gravy sauce. The spatzel went well with the mushroom gravy. My wife ordered the braised short rib which o tasted fall off the bone tender great red wine reduction sauce. My mom ordered the walleye it was good but for the $32 price I thought it was lacking a little. My son upgraded to the bison burger for $23 dollars and he devoured every bite. When you add about 4 glasses of wine, 2 beers, and three soft drinks, and 8 entrees and a crab dip appetizer our total bill was $390 with the automatic 20% gratuity added so close to $50 a person, if you avoid alcohol can be considerably less. All n all a good experience.

The three stars are for the service; we sat at the bar ate and had drinks. Our server and bartender answered all of our questions and went above and beyond. Aside from that... The atmosphere is that of a log cabin and the food itself is mid. Absolutely not spectacular. But, we also don't eat fish. The menu is like a parred down Applebees. It's a local staple that people go to because of loyalty.

Great food and excellent service. The fish and chips were amazing, and so was the Brussels sprouts side. Truly, all the food was good. Crème brûlée was to write home about for sure. I couldn't pass up the prime rib because it had been so long but will admit it was served on the cooler side temperature wise. I didn't really care, it could have been warmer when it first came out but I was still chowing down on the mozzarella sticks we had for apps (also delicious) the crab cakes were SUPER good too. Our server Samantha was super friendly and attentive, loved her. Will definitely visit again.

Came to Karl's Cabin for a dinner with family and I was good! Surprisingly difficult to get an early dinner reservation on a Wednesday, definitely a busy restaurant!! We ordered the mozzarella sticks which I loved, they were almost more like a homemade bosco stick, super good. I ordered the shrimp and scallop angelina and found it to be lacking a little flavor, I felt like it definitely needed more parmesan because the bites with it was perfect. Service was good, love the cabin side of the restaurant. I'm sure i'll be back again and look forward to trying something new!

I had ordered the steak tip poutine, which I sent back due to the small amount of cheese curds and the small portion size of the buttermilk chicken with coleslaw. The chicken sandwich was delicious! I enjoyed the portion size and the pepper aioli! I liked the Crispy bread served with butter! The waiter, Mason, provided excellent service! The outdoor patio was very quaint and had a great ambiance--perfect for enjoying the summer heat! The bathrooms were clean.

Karla has improved since the remodel. Same traditional vibe with new updates. Food and service is great. The filet was delicious and so were the short ribs. Definitely try it.

We always enjoy a visit to Karl's! It's a good sort of in between meeting spot between my husband and I in Ann Arbor and my husband's parents in Farmington. American menu with a range of options for different tastes and diets. And always very popular! No matter the day or time, it's always pretty busy. I typically go for a handheld - they have solid burgers and sandwiches. Would be great if they could offer a side salad substitute for fries (currently, it's fries, coleslaw, or chips).

I had the best time here and a very lovely family dinner. This place had been on our list to try and we finally made it. I was glad I made reservations, because it was super crowded on a Sunday afternoon. I am not sure what they wait time would have been if it had been an impromptu visit. They had a nice bar, and I liked their drink selection. They had both cocktails and mocktails or n/a choices, which is always appreciated. The servers were nice, helpful, and prompt, and addressed any problems we had and got us everything we needed. We started with some yummy bread and butter. I had their famous French onion soup, it was gooey, savory and delicious. I tried their duck crostini, which was sweet savory and perfect. I had the beef Wellington. It was cooked perfectly and cut like butter. I enjoyed their veg and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. The beer selection was great. I enjoyed the French 75, a favorite, and the Aperol spritz was good, not too bitter. The decor was really cute, I liked the cabin outdoor woodsy vibe, very inviting. It was super busy and had indoor and outdoor seating. I would like to visit again
