KAL’s Lunch Bowl

Great spot!We came for the flea market on a Sunday and my MIL said she wanted to try Kal's.She ordered the chicken noodle soup and fries. My bride and I each ordered the chicken shawarma wraps - which were excellent!They have a small dining area inside.We were pleased with our experience and would definitely go back again!

I love this place. Easy, quick, healthy, and extremely tasty. It's my go to the days I am at Henry Ford Royal Oak.Kal and his crew are also so friendly.My favorite place to go when I'm working at Royal Oak.Portions are also very generous.

Kals is the best Mediterranean around!! The staff is so kind and the food is always fresh. The best deal is the schwarma bowl that comes with a salad. I mix it all together and it's definitely two meals worth. Highly recommend!

So delicious!! My friend ordered the falafel and I had the chicken shawarma wrap. Price was much more reasonable than other Mediterranean/middle eastern restaurants. We thought that our wraps would be small but nope, nice size and super filling. My wrap was so tasty. Seasoning was made with perfection. Definitely a solid place for lunch or to grab a quick bite.

Kal's is the best! Food is always good. I love the bowls, the shawarma fries, and the hummus. It's easy to order online and the stop by to pick up. Service is always friendly. It's conveniently located inside of the farmer's market and has a few seats to eat there, though I usually get it to go. Best part about Kal's is that they support the community, often doing Restaurant Night's to help schools raise money and supporting the teachers of the local school district. I also appreciate that they recently switched to compostable bags, which is appreciated! I often skip takeout in general because of the plastic waste. Kind humans making delicious food! Stop by.

This was an unexpected treat. A friend of mine had told me about this place for lunch and I wasn't really sure if they were telling me the truth. However, I thought I should give it a try. They're specialty is Mediterranean food and it is very good. Portions are definitely enough to share or to make sure you're full all day. They were very nice at the counter they explained their menu and I was able to make my choice. The catch here, is that it is in the Royal Oak Farmers market in a corner, and during the week it doesn't even look like it's open. There are a few tables to eat there in a garage like atmosphere I chose to take mine to go. If you need to go someplace and get a quick lunch and not have any lines, before everyone discovers this give it a try.

Kal's Lunch Bowl is a must-try. The garlic sauce here is absolutely stellar. It's bright, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I judge a middle eastern restaurant based on the garlic sauce. The tabouli and Fattoush salads are incredibly fresh and green. I like that the dressing is separate so you can only eat half if you want. Like me a lot of people get the chicken shawarma sandwich, the chicken is cooked just right. It's tender, juicy, and flavorful, without being overcooked--something that's all too common at other places. Kal's gets it right, with the perfect balance of pickles and garlic sauce. One of the great things about Kal's Lunch Bowl is the ease of parking for a carry-out order. It's in t he farmers market/city lot so its easier to pick up dinner than some places on main street. You won't have to spend time circling the block for a parking spot. My wife, who judges a restaurant by the vegetables, always wants those as a side. They're tender but not mushy, with a grilled flavor that pairs wonderfully with the other dishes. Usually there are peppers, onions, and a squash I think. I found out about this place because a friend of mine had catering for their party. I made my self a plate that looked like middle eastern nachos and loved it.

Easy and fresh lunch! The juicy shawarma chicken bowl with saffron rice, hummus and pickles was really good. (Comes with a side salad which I really appreciate! ) My husband and I split the bowl, no problem. Great value, no-brainer lunch! Also they use biodegradable bowls, very nice.

Food is authentic & terrific. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. (counter/window service)The ambience is a little unusual. It's inside the Royal Oak farmer's market, and the farmers pack up & go home up right after lunchtime. When they do, you'll need to either forfeit your table & seat, or risk getting run over by a vegetable truck.

I want to let everyone know how good the service and food is from Kal's. I had a get together for 15 people and got Kal's to cater it and the delivery was on time and all the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend them some of the best Middle Eastern food. Chuck Thomas
