John's Family Grill Restaurant

Had to write another review. We have dined here a number of times now. The staff is amazing and the food delicious as usual. Their hand grated hash browns are so good!!! I do not know what they use for pancake mix but the pancakes have such a good flavor and are like pancakes were back in the day! Eggs are always cooked as ordered. Poached are my fav. Clean with updated decor. We always enjoy coming here. Staff greets you as you walk in. It's nice to dine at a community restaurant where it appears everyone is enjoying themselves. Folks at the counter having fun with banter back and forth... Love breakfast! Tuna melt too! So good!

I've been here twice now. Friendly staff and a clean dining area. The food was also very good. My first trip I ordered the Hawaiian omelette. It had ham and pineapple. It was prepared perfectly. The eggs were soft and fluffy. The ham was cut up in small cubes and the pineapple where chunks. The pineapple probably came from a can. But that doesn't bother me that's what I usually have at home. Not patient enough to clean one. I had hash browns well done which is how I like them plus wheat toast. My second visit I had the breakfast special two eggs over easy, hash browns, sausage links and wheat toast. Cooked perfectly the eggs weren't runny the sausage was tender and the hash browns were well done like I ordered. Had a good experience. Will definitely put this place on my breakfast options.

This is a family restaurant. It is newer looking, clean with good service and family diner menu. I do not normally frequent family diners but I have driven past many times, like to support local and it has nice curb appeal. Like most family restaurants I feel most of the food came out of a box in the freezer. The sausage patties clearly were frozen and not very appealing-it is rare for me not to each a sausage patty but one of my two went untouched. The sausage gravy was ok but I feel it came from a can. I wish the place well, seems they have a nice crowd. Across the street from the Engine House, across the other street from the train depot Thomas Edison worked at as a telegraph operator on the Port Huron to Detroit train.

Super clean, bright- everything looks brand new. Shared 2 different breakfast specials. Got to try a bit of everything. Scrambled eggs cooked perfectly,as were hash browns and French toast. Good service,fair prices & portions. Well worth a try.

Got the spinach feta tomato omelet with hash browns to go. The food was amazing and look how nicely they packed it!! They even put parchment paper between the food and the toast so the toast wouldn't get soggy. The food was even perfectly symmetrical see photo lol place is a little hidden breakfast gem.

Best food in the area best price too. They have really good quality breakfast the place is very clean and they always get our carry out order right! The servers are very nice. Can't wait to get lunch from here everything has been great so far !

Language barrier. Didn't understand what I was ordering when I called and charged me for 2 breakfasts. I was in a rush and didn't want to deal with the hassle. The waitress was trying to tell ME what I ordered. I only ordered 1 breakfast. The food was ok

Great homemade dishes, breakfast omelette was delicious and the service was amazing. April was our waitress and she was very attentive and kind.The restaurant was clean and very nice ambiance, highly recommend .

very good food, clean ,service needs to improve though,,,B.Y.O coffee if you expect a refill on coffee, good luck

I'm not one to leave a bad review, I've actually never have before but we went to this restaurant today, ordered our food and waited patiently while we watched other tables who sat down after us get their food before us. We were initially told there was a big to-go order but our food should be coming out soon. It never did while other tables food did. We waited over 45 mins with a 3 year old and a baby who were both very patient. We finally decided to leave and nobody even acknowledged us leaving and they were quick to clean our table. Definitely felt like they did NOT want us there. RUDE!!!!!! Will never ever come back. Do not recommend. 0/10
