Johnnies Bar and Grill

We did not choose this restaurant, we went as part of a group. We are vegetarian and this place is absolutely not vegetarian friendly.We ordered the fried cauliflower as an appetizer and the only flavor was the ranch dressing and the old oil it was fried in. Another vegetarian in the group ordered the mac and cheese bites, only to find out after that they have bacon (not listed). We ended up ordering a grilled cheese and fries from the kid's menu. Our server was very nice and the old building is cool.

We stopped in pretty much right after opening for an early lunch. First the atmosphere is perfect for a small town bar. We were greeted by our friendly server Barb and the cadence of the meal was perfect. We started with the breaded mushrooms - perfectly fried with a crunchy exterior and the mushrooms fully cooked. Our entrees - the Reuben with onion rings - the bread had a great grill on it. Kept the sandwich from being soggy! The onion rings were again just about perfect. No sliding onion rings after the first bite here! I had the Hanover Backwoods Burger and wow was it tasty. The fries were good (I believe double fried with a good crunch) but the burger was the star of this meal for me. If we're in the area again we'll be back!

This space used to house Dans Clinton Tavern and I used to be a regular there when I lived in the area. I was sad to see it close...but...i am happy that somebody had the foresight to use this building to open another establishment and a good one it is. Clinton needs a bar-and-grill here. We decided to stop by and check it out and we found at the food and the drink and the service were all good. I do not live in the immediate area anymore so we will not be able to frequent as we did in the past but I'm still glad this place is here. We will stop by once in a while and get a bite.

Stopped here for dinner on a Sunday afternoon; there were about 8 people sitting at the bar, and a few tables of people, including a young couple with a baby. The bartender was handling the whole place; she was attentive enough. Menu is pretty much bar food, fried and meaty. Prices are good, food was fine. If it hadn't been for the SUPER LOUD people at the bar, swearing, talking graphically about sex; I would have given 4 stars. This group of obvious regulars made the place very undesirable. We won't be returning.

They were extremely busy tonight, but the wait was totally worth it!The food is always so good!!! The south side Clinton burger with Ghost pepper cheese and a little mayo is by far the best burger I have ever had. Won't get anything else from now on.

Johnny's bar and Grill us has good food and service. They have one of those jukeboxes that you can play music from your cell phone but it gets crowded in there you can't hear it. There's a lot of craft beer on tap draft and a good selection of liquor to.

Love the neighborhood bar. Guinness on tap and the staff is always great! The wife has soy and dairy allergies and she can have their After Hours Chicken and tots.

Super friendly service & great drink menu! Food was quick and delicious. Excited to see all the wonderful things they plan on doing!

I'd like to be able to fully review the place. But, I couldn't even be sat. I stood waiting for over 5 minutes while the only visible employee did everything except acknowledge I was even there. The only other people there were sitting at the bar and joked about working there when the phone rang. So, he wasn't busy. Just blatantly ignoring guests waiting to be seated.

Great food! Lots of appetizers! Good group food! I have been here 5-6 times with nothing but great experiences! Highly recommend the ghost pepper cheddar!
