Pierogis were no better than the frozen turds at the grocery store.Expensive as hell for no good reason.Food is prepackaged and require cooking but prices are restaurant prices. Owner is rude as hell and seemed annoyed I walked in.

Pierogi and stuffed cabbage so good that my husband now swears he is Polish!Ok, nothing is going to be as good as what grandma made when you were growing up but this is the closest! (I swear my grandma had a secret ingredient - probably alcohol - that was in her food). The stuffed cabbage come frozen and I thawed in the oven with a can of stewed tomatoes. We nearly licked the pan clean!

I feel that a good portion of the negative reviews come from the fact that you still have to do the cooking part. I expect that and love me a good fried pierogi. I also automatically salt and pepper almost everything... these have never been bland when fried in butter and salt and peeper. Store bought are unacceptable at my house. We do make our own, but anyone who ever has can attest to the amount of work it takes and mess it makes. So we swing into Jennie's when we are out of homemade from the freezer. Love, love, LOVE Jennie's!!

A week ago we stopped at jennies pierogies in garden city ,mi.We bought a dozen cheese/potato pierogies ,6 sweet potato pierogiesand 1/2 doz. stuffed cabbage .The dough on both kinds of pierogies was bland and tastless, something was missing ,I'm pretty sure. The filling in both was almost nonexistent . A big big difference from years ago .The clincher was the cabbage rolls ,they were so so in taste ,still over priced. After we thawed the cabbage rolls ,I poured off the excess liquid, there was almost a cup of liquid ,not sauce by any means ,a slightly tomatoey looking water. It is a total let down ,when you have your taste buds ready for something and It's not there. Not a good day for us.I will not hesitate to drive to Hamtramck , next time I want real authentic Pierogies and stuffed Cabbage. It will be worth the time and money spent.

Have always wanted to check out Jennie's after living in this area the majority of my life. Finally stopped in on a Tuesday and grabbed some kraut and mushroom Pierogies and some kielbasa and kraut in a precooked meal.Hands down an authentic old world experience when it comes to the food. The Pierogies were perfect and the precooked meal was easy to heat and prep and was equally as delicious. Definitely making Jennie's a regular stop in my routine.

I tried this place a long time ago and didn't care for it. Since I haven't made pierogi on my own in awhile, I decided yesterday to try these. Ugh. I was so excited to see farmers cheese on the menu and was displeased to find chive in what should be a sweet mixture. Didn't care for the kraut either so didn't bother with the potato cheese. I'll make mention that Ray liked all three but he can do his own review. The menu is a fairly large size of soups, combos and pierogi. Prices are fair also. No need for me to go back though, I prefer Shellys Pierogis.

Very good pierogi! I would not have found them here except for my local friend. I figure if she liked them I was safe as her gran is Polish and I have tasted her gran's delicious homemade pierogi. It is a friendly mom and pop type shop. The pierogi run between $6.50- $8 bucks per dozen. They have an excellent selection but I must admit it is all about the farmer's cheese or the kraut for me. My husband is a fan of the potato, cheese and bacon. For something different you can get cherry which can stem my vareniki cravings in a pinch. They also sell stuffed cabbage, soups and various other items but I have not delved into them yet.Easily turned into a tasty dinner. Great for the non chef, like myself.

Jennies Pierogies was just pointed out to me the other day as I was driving down Middlebelt so I made a point to stop in the next day. I wasn't sure what to expect when I inside. So here is the skinny:Nothing is served hot. The pierogies are served refrigerated and ready for frying at home. (Once you do fry them up they are delicious by the way) They also sell pre-cooked frozen meals to-go. I snatched one of those up as well and it made for a awesome lunch at work.

Wait a minute, hold on now. You mean there might other places to buy home made pierogies? Ok, I'm confused now. Only one question, why would there be anywhere else to get pierogies? Whole community knows Jennies Pierogies is tops. At Jennies it's price, quality, selection. You get what you pay for: quality. Sure, sure you can make 'em at home. Mom probably did. News flash, you're not mom. Chances are mom's 'old school." Dont know, or unfamilar with that term? Well than, that's part of the problem. Not to fear, make it over to Jennies, take mom a few Pierogies, she'll know and taste the beauty of well made and served pierogie. Get a variety, mom will certainly appareciate and enjoy. Additionally, you'll not go broke. And most definitely you'll be back to Jennies for more pierogies. And why wouldn't you, they'e mouth watering piereogies. Momma won't be mad, sad or had, shes knows quality when tasted, again tha's an 'old school thing' Maybe some day mom will teach you, or eventually, you yourself will be 'old school' than you'll know. In the mean time, see Jennie for your pierogies, you be glad ya did, bet'cha.Regards,Brother Love
