I grew up in Detroit with Iversen's just down the road, near the SE corner of Grand River and Lahser (that's "Lasher" to you non-Detroiters!) in Redford, Michigan.They moved to Dearborn years later and this is a more recent relocation within Dearborn.The cookies with buttercream icing (made with real butter and you can taste it!) are tender and buttery but royal icing would be better and less messy!The cupcakes are beautiful little creations, with creative flavors like German Chocolate and Chocolate Overload, piled high with frosting.My other half went here to get my birthday cake for me, as I'd grown up with a duo birthday cake from Iversen's (my sister's is a week before so we would have a big sheet cake with Santa and reindeer on it!).It was a sweet, light feeling marble cake with tons of buttercream frosting, a holiday decorations and when he got it home, I put my vintage Santa and sleigh on it, just for old time's sake.Pricing is good ($22 in late 2018) for an 8 generous serving cake that's fresh-made by a real bakery!

Best pastries, cheese rolls remind me of the ones I had in middle school. So delicious, and the Cake for my engagement was perfect

Usually their cakes are absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I forgot to order a cake so I was left with picking one from display case. Went with a marble and Bavarian cake. Worse cake I ever had from there. Literally dry and crumbly. Threw half the cake away as no one wanted any to take home. Cake was probably old

I can not say this enough...BEST Bakery in Metro Detroit! Prices are lower than the other bakeries in the area and the quality is better! I have never been disappointed. The Spinach pie is a whole actual pie. Our family orders our birthday cakes from Bartz...the Black Forrest is a family favorite. The bread, scones, cookies, muffins, pepperoni rolls are wonderful as well. Even the day old rack's items are fresh! Cupcakes are only .95 cents and sell for $2-3 at other bakeries.The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. It is the kind of bakery that I remember as a child. Good, wholesome, delicious fare.

American style sweets tend to be very, very sweet.If that's your thing, this is your spot for sure.The service was attentive and friendly. The space is cozy.The selection wasn't huge, but it wasn't sparse either. There was enough for a fun time sampling cookies and cupcakes.They were all nicely made and presented.I think I need to try another cookie to make sure.

"It`s just a cake." That was their flippant remark and attitude when a relative of mine went back into their bakery recently to exchange a cake they messed up on. They did make the order right the second time, however, "it`s just a cake." You know what? They`re right! It is "just a cake." Because of this, we`ll go elsewhere next time when we need a cake. They`re not the only bakery around. Try to be careful next time, Iversons. In the age of social media and the ability of anyone to review something, a persons` or business reputation can be negatively affected by just one bad review.

They close too early making it difficult to walk-in randomly for a nice sweet treat or to pick up an order. But I consider that to be a minor inconvenience considering the awesome awesomeness of their cakes. Taste - AwesomeTexture - FantasticGet your cake from here if you want it to actually taste good.
