The food is absolutely amazing. The owner and chef is lovely and puts her heart and soul into the recipes she serves. There is no parking lot and street parking is hit or miss because there's always a line for order pickup. Order ahead, be patient, be amazed at the flavors.

Nasty tough undercooked oxtails. Hurt my teeth. They don't answer the phone so you can try to let them know.. No pepper sauce.

The food was very good and delicious. Everything on my plate complement each other very well. Couple things i didn't like, it was hard to find parking spot, small building and packed, and they call people's orders out of order. Overall the food is very good.

Food is good here. I usually get the curry goat or the jerk chicken. The service is good. I recommend calling in orders for carry out they can get pretty busy. Close to Southfield Fwy. I recommend this restaurant if you like Jamaican food.

I decided to try this place 40 minutes before closing they did not answer their phone and upon arriving they had a very long line the line did not take that long and I ordered mostly sides, macaroni and cheese, yams, cabbage, and a beef patty. Everything was very delicious, but my cabbage was hard and crunchy but I believed it was supposed to be served that way, it was more like cabbage flavored coleslaw. The taste was great but I would like it more softer, but other than that I love the place.

This is my first time eating oxtails and oh my this place has me craving more. The oxtails were tender and flavorful. The rice and cabbage were cooked perfectly and also seasoned well. I even liked the plantains which I was not expecting at all. When I want oxtails again, this will be the first place I go. I will definitely return soon.

What an impressive first time experience at Island spice restaurant. my meal combination selected was amazing. The curry goat is absolutely tender and delicious, which the peas and rice with the oxtail gravy was on point, as well as the cabbage. The dumplings was well worth the 10 minute wait.
