Made a pit stop in Ann Arbor on route to Detroit and got to visit this cozy little coffee shop! There were a bunch of people reading and studying--it looks straight out of a movie! Loved my pumpkin tahini latte, which was the perfect combo of sweet, creamy, and nutty . They also had lots of cookie and delicious baked goods. It's right next to a street with great bookstores and shop as well!

I ordered Cardi Boi latte with oat milkThe latte art is amazing! The consistency of the milk froth is on pointThe spices are interestingly blended ( Cardamon, cinnamon, and brown sugar) yet not too sweet, giving a bit more layer of warmth spices. The vibe is very cozy chill yet modern. The staff are nice. The music is relaxing, light to medium loud, wearing headphones should be fine. Limited spaces, with bar and outdoor seatings.Parking is downtown so, most likely street parking and parking structure. I parked at a near intersection with street parking.Overall 4.8/5

The coffee here is pretty good. I got one of the seasonal lattes and a black coffee and the latte was definitely what I would go with next time. There's not much seating inside, but the area they do have looks great.

(G)o or no go - Such a whimsical find in downtown aa! (W)ow - There's not a ton of seating indoors, but the cafe has really high ceilings, a mini couch area, and patio seats when the weather is nice. (A)ge - mostly students(M)enu - The honey lavendar latte is a balanced combo of sweet, milky, and caffeinated. Service is fast and friendly. Would definitely spend a day here studying

It's fine coffee but the spot definitely seems like it's more about trend than anything else.

I went to send this Yelp page to someone today and was surprised that I hadn't reviewed them yet! In a town where good coffee is aplenty, Hyperion still stands out as one of the best. As a creature of caffeinated habit I have the usual gotos, depending on what time of year it is. Summer? It's definitely one of their delicious cold brews. Sweater weather? Lattes. Hot of course. And both are just so so good! I also usually pick up a pastry or a lil' snack when I'm there as they typically carry options supplied from great local bakeries. The offering changes regularly but you can typically find some sort of muffin, loaf, or breakfast bar. They also have this great chocolate peanut butter bar that is SO good. If I see it behind the counter I have to get it, no question. They roast their own beans in their flagship facility in Ypsi, though you can get bags at this location as well. We certainly have done so on more than one occasion! One of the other things I love is that if you go to their website you can "meet" the coffee producers around the world that grow the beans. Once you get your bag you can also hit their website for tutorials on how to properly brew those beans at home with various types of equipment like the aeropress, chemex, and more. They also have a coffee subscription you can sign up for to get a bag delivered right to your door each month (or every two weeks if you're like us and go through a lot of coffee). They're conveniently located a couple of doors down from the Ann Arbor Art Center and I love stopping in there on the weekend to fuel up before going to the AAAC for open ceramics studio. It makes this creative "me time" even more special (and definitely more alert!)

Don't come after me for shoplifting! I didn't know my drink was going to be a steal! Specifically, I had a single origin iced americano, which I think was $3.25, but would have been fairly priced at even a dollar more in my opinion, because it was clearly outstanding coffee and a well made drink. Not to mention the service! I asked a couple questions, as it was my first time in, and the cashier asked, "are you looking for a fruity iced drink"? I was, but I didn't even realize it until she said so. She told me to order that single origin americano, iced, and it totally hit the spot. While in Ann Arbor this weekend I hit two other good coffee shops, but this was another level. Finally, yes, it is a little small with not that much seating, but there are chairs and tables outside too, and we got one right away.
