This place is so cute and the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. I really loved the Dubai chocolate bar which I didn't eat until I got home but I really love that the small one is a reasonable size and not huge. It was sweet without being too sweet. It tasted about how I imagined it would. I loved the taste and texture. I think the toppings could be a little bit better ratio of toppings to ice cream and I wished the ice cream had a bit more of a creamy texture, it seemed a little icy. The cake was definitely the highlight kind of like a croissant/donut texture. My husband got a coffee and loved it said it was a nice flavor without being too sweet.

I had been seeing House of Chimney Cakes on Instagram for a while and was excited to finally try it. The whole process of putting your chimney cake together takes some time, so be patient. Overall, tasty and happy they had vegan options. Perfect size for sharing (although a bit messy!).

The images/videos on social media for House of Chimney Cakes are amazing! The menu is extensive and amazing! It's definitely interesting to have a warm pastry cone and cool soft serve ice cream. They do well with presentation! It takes a little while for them to make the dessert. It was worth the wait! When I asked about calorie information, the cashier laughed and said he didn't have it. Customer service is fast & friendly! There's a constant flow of traffic in and out of this location- at least on an early Saturday afternoon. People dined in and ordered carry-out. They serve a WIDE age range of customers! The towers are pricey at about $10 each. I'm not sure I'd bring small kids here. I ordered the Tiramisu Tower and a small Dubai chocolate bar. Once I open it, I'll update the review.

The presentation is excellent. This ice cream shop is very instagram worthy with the decor of the shop itself, but also with how they design all their food. I ordered the strawberry bomb which comes with strawberry dole soft serve, marshmallows and chocolate syrup. It overall tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry. It tasted great and all the flavors complimented themselves really well. I didn't eat the cone, but I understand I could've taken it home and warmed it up. The guy working there was very friendly and asked me how everything was. The parking lot is a little small but there is actually another lot near the back. Overall being as ever on the menu looks amazing, I definitely want to come back and try a few more items.

This is located in the plaza with semi-decent parking available. We had a park bit further because a lot immediate too. It was very full. When we were there, it was not very busy, and the workers were all chatting and taking a break. I felt a bit bad interrupting them, but we were waiting and wanted to place an order. The overall place was very bright and seems to be clean. We ordered something to share because we weren't really sure what to get. But we got was pretty good.

My kid wanted desperately to have a taste of the infamous "Dubai chocolate" that is trending on TikTok, so we came. They offer 3 varieties, a pistachio, a kanafa, and a ??. We bought all three and my kid also bought a s'mores dessert. The S'mores thing was served in a stupid frame that made the entire dessert top-heavy this tipsy. It was hard to eat because the ice cream is served in a cone made of crispy cinnamon puff pastry (nice idea btw) inside of a cardstock tube, inside of the metal frame - and every thing moves as she tried to scoop into it - nothing stable here! She needed to hold the base of the frame with her left hand so it would tip over. She liked it. As for the Dubai chocolate. Far too sweet for me. And a clear taste of coconut oil. The kanafe one was VERY sweet, TOO sweet. And I was really looking forward to trying the pistachio one, but I noticed a slightly burned flavour. The people I was with did not notice however - just my experience, but I tried another bite to make sure and it was the same. Perhaps that is the coconut oil. I wasn't interested to bother trying the third variety. The first thing I noticed when we entered was the dirty trash can next to the entrance. The bag had loosened and so the edge had fallen off the can beneath it, exposing the plastic trash can. This part of the trash had weeks worth of ice cream and other sauces spilled and dried all over it. The trash can itself needs to be washed when this happens - which apparently is often given the evidence. Next I noticed the cute nook to take pics, And third, I noticed the food counter with gross serving dishes. This blew my mind! When I was younger, my first few jobs were working in bakeries. Each bakery stressed the importance of cleanliness! It was super important to clean all serving dishes every single night at closing. Every dish would be emptied into a clean one, and then washed for the next day's use. The doServing dishes at House of Cakes looked like they had not been swapped out in at least a week! It was so gross I just thought of the sprinkles and other toppings having been sitting out there with dust and air-born crap and foods being spilled into it. The employee at the time we arrived was indeed whipping stuff down, but he stopped short before cleaning the bowls. So they were still gross when we left. They had two bathrooms - both posted with an 'out of order', sign on them, however an employee used one while we were there. So either their workers use broken toilets/sinks, or the shop owner doesn't want to provide a restroom for the public. Either option is bad imo. My overall opinion on this place is a Big. Fat. No. Just. Don't. Go.

After spending all day at the Old Car Festival, at Greenfield village, and a lunch that was bigger than we wanted, Ice Cream was the perfect way to end the day. Everything is made to order, and I skipped the ice cream and opted for a cinnamon chimney cake, as did our friends wife. My bride hade a crazed chimney cake, and my friend is the only one who had the ice cream. We apparently got there at the right time as after we ordered several groups showed up. I take a little bit of time to make and cook the chimney cakes so we counted ourselves lucky to be ahead of them. The only negative we had here, was realizing that St. Louis, doesn't have anything like this. We will be back on our next trip to your great city
