House Of Chimney Cakes

I came here after dinner. I did not know this place is located in downtown Ann Arbor but I was glad I made the trek. It was about a 13-15 min. from where I was at. I found street parking but there is a garage about a block away. I only saw 2 gals at the front. Perhaps no one wanted a cold dessert in the cold weather but I personally love enjoying ice cream, gelato, or frozen yogurt when it is cold out. I knew I wanted to try the chimney creations. I believe it's a Hungarian decadent treat filled w/ creamy ice cream and a generous amount of toppings to satisfy your inner kid. The chimney reminds me of a crispy and flaky croissant. It is not a croissant but it reminded me of it though. It's sugary and light. I ordered the "Chocolate Nutter Butter." Despite its size when you first see it, it is a little over 1.5 scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream so mot entirely gluttonous. I didn't finish it but it was because I just had dinner 20 min. prior. The place is clean, cute, a dream if you take selfies or an influencer. I like the feminine aesthetic touches. I felt super girly enjoying my dessert here. A great place to take yourself out to dessert. Great service! Plenty of seating. An ice cream heaven.

The food was delicious and I will be coming back for sure! And the service was amazing!! They explained everything to us because this was our first time ever coming here and it was my sister's birthday so we wanted everything perfect and it was!! The ambience was so light and talkative we had lots of laughs. We took many pictures together! Everything was beautifully pink!! I'll be back hopefully soon! (=^･･^=)

We were walking to lunch and I saw this new sign upon our walk so I decided we should stop and check it out on the way back. I am so glad we did! Everything we ordered was amazing! The decor is super pretty for Instagram pics but f you want but even if that's not your thing the desserts are sooooooo good. I loved my Oreo milkshake and my kids loved their vanilla and sprinkles and their Oreo cake cones. The cone is more like a soft croissant pastry. They have other options like açaí bowls and savory cake cones, too. It's about $8-13 per treat and they are definitely large enough to share. Five stars!! I'm glad to have another delicious sweet spot in A2!

Service was very friendly and it's super fun inside- very colorful, bright, and happy. We got the tiramisu chimney cake it was delicious!

Service, food and ambiance all amazing, 10/10. Would definitely go back and try many more items. Great for date night, family night, fun afternoon, girls or guys day/night, literally anything.

The service was amazing! Very friendly people and quick on making food. They have the best quality ice cream you will ever eat and they make the cones fresh! The cones aren't hard nor too crunchy like normal cones, instead it taste like a cinnamon and sugar donut! They put a lot of effort into making the cones and their food. The place is decorated very nicely.

Delicious, massive treats. Big big big portions. Chimney cakes here are more like a fancy, freshly baked pastry cone filled with stuff like ice cream and fruit. The pastry portion is fresh, buttery and flaky. The filling portion is like a dessert in and of itself. It's not like a slice of typical cake. The ambiance in the cafe is over-the-top extremely pink and girly, there are areas to take selfies. Even still, masculinely inclined individuals are encouraged to visit! The owner/staff are really lovely, and depending on how busy the place is, service is usually quick although I believe the cakes are made to order. They have savory options and a few other non-cake menu items. If you have kids, they will probably go gaga over a chimney cake.

Fire yummy chimney cakes. Never had a chimney cake before but this was a pleasant experience. I will say that there is an absurd of ice cream loaded on but it was still really good.

I ordered the Dubai chocolate strawberries and paid 21 dollars for it. My cup was mostly strawberries with very little chocolate or pistachio filling. It definitely was NOT worth the price. For the amount I paid including two lemonades I felt like the dessert could've been way better, even if they added more chocolate and pistachio. I mean after all I'm paying 21 bucks for it. I would NOT recommend and I regret spending money here. Do not come.

Not the same as the Dearborn location. You can tell the pastry sat out for a while because they don't sell as many at this location. The people working at the counter had a standoffish attitude and it's the same plastic decor with the fake blossom trees you see in any Michigan Avenue "dessert" shop. You're better off driving 35 mins to Dearborn and getting a fresh chimney cake from the original spot. Sometimes location, location, location isn't the solution.Also as you can tell from the response, the subsidiary, franchise "owner" is quite hostile in her response towards honest and constructive feedback. This is a stark contrast to the original , Dearborn, chimney cake shop we all know and fell in love with during COVID. What a shame. Hopefully future locations are sold to more customer friendly individuals.
