House Of Barbecue Corp

As someone who smokes a lot of meat, I can be pretty critical of restaurant BBQ places. This is BY FAR the best BBQ I've had in the area (or, honestly, most other states). We got the 2-person sampler platter and everything was great. Perfectly juicy meat, tasteful sauces and great sides, especially the street corn. Ambiance is a bit more traditional than BBQ but the food is well worth the trip. The owner also is very friendly and takes pride in his work.

Ordered the 4-7 person feast. Chicken was dry dry dry. Pulled pork was saveable with sauce. Ribs were over smoked and dry ,uneatable. Literally threw them in the trash. smoke flavor was petroleum brickett tasting , not hickory/applewood smoke like one would expect, Everything looked/tasted like it was smoked 2or 3 days earlier and reheated.. it came highly recommended so I took chance from my usual Woodpile bbq across the street.I will not be going back to House of BBQ.. bummed me out . I felt ripped off. 2 stars for takeout service , nice enough people but the food got a 0

Wowza!!!!! We stopped in for a meal after bouncing around Clawson! Great menu, fantastic food...you'll want to lick your fingers and I hate to get messy but it's so worth it! The crab cakes are delicious and the brisket was so tender. I can't eat the corn, but my friend couldn't stop raving about it! I will most certainly be back. They also do a lot of catering.

I love that House of Barbecue has vegan options. It's amazing what they can do without animal products. The mushroom grits were ridiculously flavorful and the smoked tofu has a great texture and flavor.

Ordered carryout. Outside there is a nice seating area with tent for overhead cover. Inside there is ample seating for parties of all sizes.For food ordered the half slab of ribs with a side of mac and cheese. The rib meat fell off the bone with a good vinegar based sauce that had a nice tang to it.The Mac and Cheese was very good with a nice medley of cheeses which gave it a nice savory flavoring.The side cornbread that came with the meal was very good.

My son and daughter in law and I came here and GLAD I DID! This is what a barbecue joint is all about. The service and host was AMAZING. They young men working with him were AWESOME. The food melted in our mouths. A house hot sauce was given to me for my greens and WOW!! This was what I needed to feel a good heat and flavor no other barbecue place has provided. The Mac and cheese would rival any grandmas. And the brisket LORD HAVE MERCY! Huge portions and even bigger flavor. The burnt end and fries in gravy was heaven. Please please please try this place. You won't regret it! Definitely a 10/10 and higher. I will be back.

I have been to HOB a few times and their food is delicious every single time. The BBQ is great and so are all the sides and desserts. It's very rare that you find a restaurant that can do it all this well.I went in to order a carryout yesterday (Father's Day) and it was clear they were absolutely slammed as well as short-staffed. A recipe for a tough day in the service industry. While everyone was hustling and stressed, they remained smiley and friendly the entire time. I waited patiently and was rewarded with yet another amazing meal.I hope that more people read this review and show this restaurant more love! They are hard working, kind and very talented at their craft. Can't wait for the next meal!

My mother and I drove quite a long way to come eat here. The experience was a complete nightmare. They were almost dead inside as far as customers, but we still sat there and waited for a table for almost 15 minutes. The waiter walked by over and over just staring at us like we shouldn't be there. Finally we got sat and it took another 15 minutes or so for water. When the food came, it was the biggest disappointment ever. Jerk chicken was the smallest, most burnt to a crisp black charred piece of chicken I've ever seen. I love BBQ and smoked foods, but this is absolutely a joke to the food industry. The mashed potatoes were incredibly lumpy, and the mac and cheese was covered in some nasty sauce that completely masked any mac and cheese flavor that it could of possibly had. The owners took 0 effort and put all the blame on us for complaining about the over priced, low quality food.

Excellent food, Omar is a great and friendly waiter who makes you feel at home, the place has an ambiance that serves to help you enjoy an at home sort of experience, outdoor dining is available with all of the above. One of the best beef ribs I've had. Tender, tasty, perfect in every way. Chef came out to make sure everything was perfect. People of Clausen, you have a wonderful gem in your town. I'll definitely be back every chance I get.
