My company is just down the road, and I visit this location when I come in from Chicago on a regular basis. I always make it a priority to stop here for lunch or dinner at least once when I am in town. The chicken green curry is my favorite, but I have not had a bad dish ever. Also the staff is always very friendly and attentive.

We ordered the the Pad Thai and the red curry. The meals were steaming hot and tasted fantastic. Maybe the first Thai place I've ever been to that didn't overcook the beef. It was perfect. Drove by here 25 times going to Vertical Drop and never stopped in. Honestly it was due to the ratings. I'm usually a true believer on the ratings from Yelp but it was really good.

I should preface this with the fact that we are regulars here. Probably 20 visits since they opened. We have a love hate relationship with hot pepper Thai. When it's good it's so very very good. But when it's bad....... They are incredibly inconsistent. Both with their flavors and more so with their spice levels. Their service is slow. They are constantly understaffed. Their workers argue with each other. Nothing about how they operate makes sense. But... when their food is good it's so very very good.If there were a better Thai option in the area, we would never return.Edit: Got our chicken pad Thai home. No peanuts, no tofu, barely any chicken. We are officially now done with Hot Pepper Thai.

Order took twice as long as they said. Waited for an additional thirty minutes. They bring the food out, but the bag looks too small for what we ordered. "Is the Thai Salad in there?""Oh, uh, no. Good catch! You should work here!"Um, no. So the kid bagging the food didn't know how to make it, the cook was listing off random ingredients. Got it all home and the salad was missing the green onions and bean sprouts. The lettuce pieces were laughably enormous (see photo), like they were pulled off a head of iceberg lettuce. Not chopped. Just "here you go". The flavor of the food was great. The salad was a joke. The wait was inexcusable. Another customer waited so long she asked for her money back. Save yourself the trouble - avoid this place and go to Bangkok Thai Express on Dixie. They've been rocking it and getting orders right for a long time.

Update: so we have been trying to eat here again for a few weeks and can NEVER get through the phone lines, every time we have tried calling multiple times and no one ever answers. Tried one last time and I was calling for over a half hour and line was constantly busy- finally was done with my errands and drove by (when I would have been getting dinner) and place is empty- still no one answers the phone. I have double checked the number; guess they just don't want business? I'm sad because the food has always been good but I literally have not been able to order for months.

I got the pad pak vegetable with tofu but I asked for red curry sauce instead of brown sauce. I liked all the veggies in the pad pak so they were very accommodating. Very nice flavor. Medium has a good kick but not too spicy. The soup they served for dining in at lunch was good too. It was like a hot and sour egg drop soup with veggies. I don't usually like hot and sour soup but this one had a nice taste.

I don't live in the area but when I am home visiting my family, we have a tradition of always ordering dinner from here at least once because it is consistently delicious. Our favorite dishes include: Chicken Drunken Noodles, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Pad Ped, and the Crab Rangoons. We have never been disappointed with the quality. Super tasty!!!!

This restaurant is now called Royal Thai. The food is very good! We love the fresh spring rolls (get extra peanut sauce, it's delicious!).

Ordered takeout, they completely mixed up our orders. I ordered a medium, my husband ordered mild and they flipped our spice levels. We called to let them know and they were not helpful at all. Wasted $40.

The phone ordering is a nightmare, expect their crappy cordless phone to scream in your ear 5 or 6 times (think dialup modem to AOL, but louder) before you get your order in. Staff barely knows what's on the menu. Often get orders screwed up. The food is ok, spice level is rarely consistent mild some days is mouth burning others it's not noticeable. If there was another somewhat decent Thai place closer we'd go there, but this is what we are stuck with in Clarkston, the land ethnic food forgot.
