I've been sick and asked my husband to find me a good soup/noodle joint. We googled & found this place. Limited menu but it sounded simple & good. Exactly what I was looking for. When he went to pick it up I think it was a bit of a shock. It's actually a gaming shop. People are hanging out playing Pokémon. Nothing wrong with that, just didn't expect it lol the food was like street food but without the fresh taste. The chicken looked like fatty gristle or rubber I'm not even exaggerating. I am not sure it's actually chicken. I picked it off and tossed it. The vegetables looked fresh though and the broth was flavorful so I will give them that. I just don't think I will be going back. Not what I had hoped for.

DO NOT GET THE CHICKENThis place has entirely fell off as a noodle house, I used to come here often before they decided to open the game store, and I hadn't gone in awhile, but today I made the mistake of trying to get my usual, ramen with chicken, the noodles and soup was okay, although very bland, the worst part is the meat, while they used to have actual chicken that was pretty good, they seem to have replaced it with mushy meatballs that are flavorless with a disturbing texture, not even sure if it's chicken,

Used to love this spot and just went in for some New Year Lunch for the first time in a while. First it doesn't even look like they still have a restaurant because the sign is only advertising the "new business" they expanded to called The 8th Side. I had to call and find out. When I walked in, they tore out all the booths, put up small tables all over and it's mainly for playing D&D and Magic, and there's a "shop" for supplies if you even want to call it that at the front. You go to the back and order, and you can eat it there, but sorry I don't want to sit in a poorly painted black room while people are hanging out to play magic cards. Also, who the hell puts to go soup/noodles in regular styrofoam containers and gives you the broth in a thin plastic bag?! The way the restaurant was originally set up, there was no reason to do this. There was a second side and they could have easily sectioned off the "new business" and still left a comfortable dining area. I will never come here again. My food was mediocre at best. I saw another older couple walk in when I left and they walked back out a minute later.

Best idea for the menu, pick the protein and ingredients and choose what style you want (They have about 10-15 soup variants and stir fry variants)all Asian styles Japanese, Chinese, Thai, etc. Very good for vegetarians, they can make almost everything in their menu vegetarian with tofu or just vegetables. and for the people on a diet, they have noodle-less stir fry, basically stir fried veggies/protein without the carbs or the gluten ( gluten free option) . I love this idea. I got the Singapore noodles with tofu and all the veggies. amazing taste, to the spicier side but just what I like. It comes with the angel hair noodles. The amount of veggies was less. May be next time I will request for more veggies. My friend had the udon soup with beef. He loved it.He also had the Takoyaki, Deep fried octopus it was ok. Soft but less flavor. worth trying. The service was super friendly the owner and the server both were nice and helpful. We went for a Friday lunch, For the quality of food I would have imagined this place to be packed. But very few people. The restaurant by itself was clean and moderate decor. The place is big, it can easily seat over 100 people. I think I love this place and I will be regular here. They have ample parking (private lot).

Of course Yelp deleted hundreds of my reviews, this one from 5 year's ago Enjoy Asian Amazin Noodle Shop OH Yea PHOPho is listed at number 28 on "World's 50 most delicious foods" compiled by CNN a super enriched flavor filled bowl of rice noodle in broth with your added choice of veggies, today was my very first of many PHO I'll be trying at this new eating spot. They specialize in the worlds finest Noodles for me to try with the Udon being on my list for next visit.A super concept they want to be know as the best Noodle House around which makes this a unique focus for a downriver restaurant. I'll have many new learning experiences at this place since my meal and appetizers were all amazing in presentation and flavor. You get a menu and a order sheet to pick your items from, each person fills out one with a little help from out super waitress Katie trained us well. Had the mega bowl of PHO with chicken and all the veggies along with succulent crab rangoon, spring rolls and fried dumpling. The almond chicken over a bed of super noodles that were just a perfect first eat up.Give them a chance only opened a couple days and already packing them in, shout our to Katie very first day I teach her about Rooster sauce,,, you know Sriracha hot sauce me like and you get me,,ha ha. Find them on Facebook to check out the menu, lunch special 11 am till 3 pm that's when we like to eat. I think I'll be a Noodle expert very soon with all those choices to make me belly happy. ENJOY

If you love comforting bowls of noodles and broth topped with fresh veggies, do yourself a favor and eat here. If you're like me, you like to be able to customize your experience and this is one of the features that sets Hop Sheing apart from other local noodle joints. I tend to order the Udon or the Ramen soup most times. For the Ramen, I usually request chicken broth over the also delicious, but not my favorite, miso base... If miso is your thing, you'll love it.I get variety in my life by mixing up the veggie choices, asking for chili oil on the side to give it a kick, or adding a different meat.Whatever I ask, as long as they have it in stock and I ask nicely, they will accommodate.Their appetizers are all tasty and they even have takoyaki, which is not very common around these parts. They also have really interesting bubble tea flavors. The atmosphere is super laid back and the owner can sometimes be found playing chess with another patron, but usually is moving and shaking with the rest of the staff as they fill carry-out orders and serve guests. It's a great local place to get some great food with none of the pretentious hipster vibe you may see elsewhere. Give Hop Sheing a try the next time you're wishing you could get something real out of that top ramen spice packet...

Used to be a good spot, but ownership is starting to take customers for granted. Random convenience fees on everything and now putting broth in bags ? No thanks I'll go elsewhere.
