Hoffman Farms Winery

Weekend adventure where we haphazardly came across this place. The old Google wineries near me, as we were enjoying a Sunday drive.Pulled up and it is a cool ranch/stable with horses gracing all around. The signage for the actual winery is a bit lacking, went to the stable end first. No big deal, winery is the big house building.Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted and given the run down in their flights and tastings. Went with a variety of wines and ciders. Like any tasting there are some you like and some you don't. The ones we liked were many as we took some home and a howler of cider.Cool place, beautiful horses, friendly service- highly recommend Nichelle. And of course the beverages were tasty.

Nichelle at Hoffman Farms was wonderful!! The winery was very cute inside with a cool upstairs! The wine is delicious but the cider is best. You can walk the grounds to see the horses and they leave plenty of lawn games to keep you busy. If you come on a Saturday Nichelle should be helping out and she is an absolute gem!! She gave use plenty of crackers and snacks during our tasting and made us feel so welcomed. Will definitely come back!

A first for me . . . Hoffman Farms Winery is a horse farm, along with a beautiful wine tasting room. When we pulled in, I immediately mentioned this reminds me of Southfork from the 80's Dallas TV show with the lovely area with horse corrals. I mentioned boy they are busy. I found a spot to park and walked up to the door. The moment I opened the door I smelled horses and noticed the dirt floor - oops wrong door, we entered the horse stall and all the cars in the parking lot were riders involved with the horses.We drove over to the big white house and D ran in and hollered to me this is the wine tasting room. They really need a sign on the house saying Tasting Room. The tasting room is small, but what a neat view where you can sit and look through the window and watch the riders and horses in the indoor riding corral. Tiffany our server was talkative and very polite. I mentioned how we ended up in the horse stable and she said we weren't the first. We are still laughing over that. The grapes for Hoffman Winery come from both Traverse City and the Paw Paw areas. The wines we tasted were good. I purchased a bottle of their Cheval Blanc wine to share with my yoga babes. They also make cider, which appear to be quite popular. We had a wonderful time visiting Hoffman Winery.

We love supporting local and had such high hopes that we found a new spot to sip wine, but we were unfortunately very disappointed. My husband found an ad in a penny saver for this winery so we decided to have a little date afternoon. When we arrived there we were the only customers. We walked in and two women were at the bar. One was sipping a large pour of wine and on her computer completely ignoring us. The other was behind the bar but seemed completely annoyed that we showed up. We were interested in the wine flight so we could sample an assortment. The pours were so tiny, I'd say they were not even an ounce. The woman pouring was very court and not interested in explaining what we were drinking, instead she chatted with the other woman on the computer and her daughter who was sitting at the bar frosting and decorating brownies. We also tried asking about renting out the winery for a party since they advertised this place as a party destination, but neither woman seemed interested in our business. We felt like we were strangers intruding on a family in their own kitchen, and it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable! We were not made to feel welcome, and made a quick exit! Perhaps other people have had a more positive experience and I wish them luck, but unfortunately we will not be back, and have scheduled our event at a more welcoming business.

Randomly stumbled on this place driving through the area. Absolute beautiful location, and for a horse-lover it was such a treat to be able to walk through their barns and visit the horses. Wines were good, albeit pours were a bit light.

This was one of the best tastings I've ever experienced! As someone who has worked in the wine industry, the rapport you build with your customers is one of the most important things you can do. Lori, our server, was incredibly personable and conversational. Her pours were incredibly generous. I was a huge fan of the Apple Blueberry Cider that I purchased a growler. A huge plus was that it's attached to a horse farm and you can watch people ride horses while tasting! Hoffman Farms Winery is a must and is worth the drive for people in the metro Detroit area!

Great afternoon of wine tasting! My favorites were the Cheval Blanc and their Cider!! Great atmosphere, beautiful decor, outside seating is nice. Wonderful place for a future party.

Stopped in for wine tasting in Sunday afternoon. It's a great location with nice people. The wine is good and they have a really nice cider with growlers to go. They were busy setting up the outside seating for the summer and sell by the glass as well as the tastings so it is a great lace to just stop by for a drink on a summers evening.

The employee working the taste testing was not friendly. Didn't share anything about the winery or wines. Shared nothing about the farm. There was another woman sitting there visiting the employee and she was friendlier than the employee. No recommendations on wines or ciders. This definitely needs to be corrected. We did purchase a bottle of wine but not because of salesmanship.

Very good place. The staff is very polite and friendly. Their wines are amazing. I would definitely come back when I am in the area.
